“Small place, no wait staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

This place is ok. Food is good, though expensive. There isn't much seating and you have to go up to the counter to pick up your food. They do have live entertainment there quite often, sometimes it tends to be too loud.

“Disappointed in our service and food over past 6 months”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Oak RIdge....But once there war major staffing changes the service has really fallen off. After being a regular for so long I have a hard time leaving poor feedback but it is neccessary. The wait time for food is far too long...most of the time it was well over 45 minutes. The service ( not necessarily the cook) but those taking your order never get things right the first time, are rude and seem to think clients are bothering them. Hope things change so we can return.

A great place to pop in for a relaxing meal. Love, love, love bistro! Great food, great service, Hummin' bird on tap. 'Nuff said.

“Good food but not a music venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2014

A friend of mine was playing at Bistro 150 Friday night and the wife and I decided to go listen. When we got there, we found another friend sitting at a table next to the door and she invited us to sit with her saying that "it's the only table left". Now my friend was to start performing at 7:30 and we got there at 6:30 so this didn't bode well for being able to hear the singing as the room is long and narrow and the stage was at the other end. But we decided to eat and see what happened.

As the other reviews have said you step up to the counter to order and there I found a very friendly young lady who took my food and drink order. We both had decided on the Classic Club sandwich. They have Red Oak and Humming Bird on tap, both from a local brewery, and a good selection of micro brews in bottles. They also have a good selection of wines. My wife wanted a Red Oak draft and I got a glass of 7 Deadly Zins wine. I carried our drinks back to the table after being told that they would bring our food to us.

We sat and chatted with our friend and the food came out in a very short time. We both remarked that the sandwich was very good and it certainly was a good value with lots of meat and cheese. However things started going downhill as we ate.

The group seated next to us was getting louder the longer we stayed and when my friend started playing guitar and singing we could barely hear him over the chatter and loud laughter. Two more friends had come in in the mean time and we invited them to sit with us. They both remarked on the noise. It finally got so bad that we all left. I was very disappointed because I had been looking forward to the concert all week.

To sum up: From our experience this seems to be a good place to eat but it is not the place to go to hear music.

“Neighborhood restaurant keeps getting better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

We've followed Bistro 150 from its inception through change of ownership and gradual maturation into a staple neighborhood meeting place. Since Bistro 150 started as a bakery and coffee shop, and while it still is set up "bistro" order-at-the-counter style, we recently decided to try dinner there. What a very very pleasant surprise!! The dishes - in terms of uniqueness, flavor and presentation AND comparatively low price - lead us to our ranking and our intention to return many more times for dinner. In addition, on weekends you get the benefit of wonderful local musicians. We also love the fact that the owners are local, very much in the picture and always seeking to improve what they offer.
