Short, well-marked nature trail. Very easy terrain. Not super remarkable as far as exquisite sights, but a nice little mid-day breather.

This is a prime example of a long leaf pine forest that once covered much of southeastern U.S. Trees with white painted rings are where the endangered red cockaded woodpecker nests -- just look up and you'll see where they have made nests inside the tree trunks. Beautiful natural ponds. This is a fire dependent habitat, and much of the ground cover is native wire grass that glows in the early morning and evening sunlight.
