My wife and I decided that we wanted to visit parts of NC that we had never been to and our first stop was New Bern. Right from the time we pulled up to their beautiful home Joe and Camille made us feel welcomed and pampered. Our room was cozy, beautifully decorated with many period pieces. The bed was sooo comfortable that we had no problem sleeping only getting up so we could sample the gourmet breakfasts that awaited us each morning and then there was the delicious coffee too! Great way to start our trip toward the Outer Banks.

We were kind of reluctant at first when we were told we were booked and would be staying at a bed and breakfast place in New Bern for the 300 celebration. But, I've got to tell you....it could not have been better. The owners, Joe and Camille were great.... fun and friendly. And we had the best breakfast served every morning. Huge beds....jacuzzi tubs....great coffee every morning, day. I highly recommend and we'd do it again.

I don't care if you are driving from New York to Miami -- take the cut East to New Bern and stay at the Hanna House.

Joe and Camille are INCREDIBLE cooks. Its best if you let them know your general preferences and let them pick breakfast for you. I forgot what REAL fresh OJ was, never had Charleston Cheese Pudding and thought a hearty breakfast was an extra scrambled egg and bacon.

TAKE TIME to walk the historic downtown from here -- it is as perfectly located among shops and a 1-wood from the waterfront (and Kayak on the Neuse - way cool)

Rooms are pristine -- was like we were late 1800's VIPs...

If you are visiting New Bern, NC, this place is great! The rooms are so cozy, clean and you feel right at home. Brie and crackers in the evening, gourmet breakfast you special order the night before...Shrimp and grits, eggs benedict, soufle, omelets! The innkeepers Camille and Joseph make you feel right at home. The location is within walking distance of Tryon Palace, downtown, waterfront and good restaurants. I don't think the experience could be any better in Coastal NC.

This was our second stay with Joe and Camile. The first time we chose it as a stop going to hilton head. The second time we made a point to schedule our trip so we could stay at Hanna House. We chose it because of the breakfast menu and boy we we right. The place has a great atmosphere, very clean and modern and breakfast is to die for. I have had shrimp and grits at NOLA in New Orleans and it wasn't as good as good as Joe's

New Bern is not exactly the hot spot to go for European tourists. Actually, nobody to whom we mentioned the town had ever heard of it.
But it is a great stopover when travelling along the Atlantic seaboard, as we found out, and the place of actually affordable, nice B&Bs. This one was situated in walking distance to the city centre, yet in a calm street.
A big plus is that this B&B is actually family-friendly, as we were travelling with our one year-old daughter who actually didn't destroy any of the antiquities with which the rooms were tastefully decorated. Other B&Bs just seem to be cluttered with old stuff, here everything seems to have a history of its own.
The breakfast was great and apparently the B&B attracted a lot of very interesting guests with whom to dine was a pleasure.
I can highly recommend this place as well as New Bern, a hidden gem probably closest to Bill Bryson's imagined "Amalgam, USA" as you will ever get.

I stayed there for one night for a conference and couldn't have been happier that I chose NOT to stay at the nearby Hilton. The room was so clean and comfortable. The hosts made you feel right at home. The breakfast was outstanding with stuffed french toast and and freshly squeezed orange juice. Great value and highly recommended.
