“Food is good; service spotty”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

Surprisingly, one of only 2 riverfront restaurants in New Bern. Great location and consistently good food. Wait staff are frequently so incompetent as to stretch the imagination. This week I had no silverware, asked for a refill on tea that never arrived, ordered soup and a salad...salad got there, no soup. My friend ordered a sandwich with mayo on the side. Her sandwich was dry and her mayo was put on my soup tray. Waitress never came back to check on us and had to be reminded to do her job. I left NO tip. Horrible service. Other days have been much better. It's a lottery.

“New Bern's best kept secret!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

My favorite Saturday lunch spot! The only thing on the menu I have had & don't like is their taco beef, which is way too greasy. They have the 2ed best view in New Bern, right on the Trent River, with waterfront gardens, outdoor seating, tasteful, modern design.

It can be hard to find. Park at the Museum close to the waterfront, look to your right for the curved glass wall in front of the floating gardens. That's it! Right next to the Farmer's Market.. can you say a great Saturday morning in New Bern?

They have great wraps, soups, some mind blowing salad dressings.... oh Try the White Chocolate! You will love it! Espressos etc. And they have the hands down best sweet potato casserole I have ever tasted. I usually get 3 sides for around $8, salad plus that sweet potato plus whatever. Very clean, very tasteful. The only bad service I have ever had I never saw that waiter there again, & I go often.

The only negative is their hours. They stop the kitchen at 4, & close at 5 weekdays, so I can't get anything to take home after work. Sundays coffee only, no food. Hopefully they will change that.

“Great Place on the River”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Our Civitan Club had a fundraising concert in Cullman Auditorium at the History Center. We asked Lawson's Landing to be open to serve dinner and lunch before the concerts. They complied and did an outstanding job. The restaurant was full yet they managed to serve everyone with a delicious meal in a timely manner. The owners, Jeanette and Sean, are warm and accommodating and just aim to please. Christopher is an excellent waiter. The setting of the restaurant is delightful and inviting. Give them a try for breakfast or lunch. You won't be disappointed.

“5 STAR LUNCH”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

Had lunch here while visiting Tryon Palace. Attractive location overlooking the water. Excellent scratch-made tomato basil soup and salad. Extremely friendly wait staff convinced me to buy a fancy hot apple cider - it was a cool, rainy day.

“The PERFECT water view spot”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

A very nice café with very decent food and a great staff. With so many of New Bern restaurants with wait lists this place is a great find for those looking off the beaten path. The setting is perfect if you enjoy being on the water and the food is wonderful. The staff are always accommodating.
