Description: At Lone Cedar Cafe, we specialize in fresh and local seafood. If you're craving the freshest fish, clams, crab, shrimp and oysters from local North Carolina waters, you'll find them at the Lone Cedar Cafe. For generations, Outer Banks families made their livings - and their daily meals - from the bounty of local waters, caught fresh every day. Our family, the Basnights, were part of that history, and we continue the tradition today by serving only the freshest Outer Banks seafood, caught in local waters and brought to our docks daily by local fishermen, then cleaned and prepared right here at the Lone Cedar Cafe. Our vegetables are "just picked" from North Carolina farms, we serve only all-natural beef and poultry and even our herbs and greens are grown in our own chemical-free garden on-site. Come enjoy delicious food, gorgeous sunsets and panoramic water views, the antics of our resident ospreys and our warm Southern hospitality.

Nice views, probably more family orientated than romantic. Food is above average, sea food seemed very fresh. Service was excellent.

This place has great food of all varieties, but the local seafood is always my choice. It has been a family business for years and was rebuilt after a catastrophic fire several years ago.

It is not cheap, but you get your money's worth. No reservation, so go early or late in the beach season!

This used to be my "go-to" restaurant in Nags Head. Hostess was too pre-occupied to welcome us, had to wait for the wait-staff to be seated. Maybe the cook during the off-season is not the regular, or is training, or on vacation, but food quality not what I was used to. I used to really like the cornbread, thick and moist, now reminds me of what might be included in a school lunch. Oysters were on special and were fresh and good. Fish was over-cooked, and paired with weird sides. Wine served in water goblet. The wait-staff was very good and attentive. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area where you can spend your money on better food. I doubt I will be back

The dining experience you described in your review is totally unacceptable to us. We are glad you enjoyed our fresh oysters, but we are sorry you were disappointed in other areas. Please do visit us again.

Been here numerous times- We even drive 2 1/2 hours just for dinner & drive back home. The food is absolutely delicious. I had oysters, roasted winter medley & roasted Brussel sprouts! The iced tea is great as well - not watered down like other restaurants!

Service was excellent, food was to die for. Sunday's brunch continued into the early afternoon. We were a group of 8 and everyone absolutely loved their food. (From seafood, which is locally caught, to the brunch items) were excellent and we all would eat there again. They have some history ( place burned and was rebuilt within a 90day period.) Souvenir shop with an assortment of items for gals and many different t-shirt "quotes" reasonably priced. Casual or dressed up, they welcome you either way.
