Good for: Families with children
Dining options: Lunch, Breakfast
Description: Grits Grill is a decidedly southern place to have a great breakfast or lunch year round. It's open till 2 pm daily. Most of the cooking is done right behind the diner style front counter. Eggs any style, chipped beef, omelettes, hotcakes and of course grits (cooked just about any style) are breakfast specialties and served anytime. Lunch is full of specials, deli offerings and big, juicy burgers. Owned locally. Staff is well known for being warm and friendly. Come have breakfast with us anytime!

“Southern Hospitality & Huge Breakfasts”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Like our family tradition of beach week in OBX we also have a tradition of dining at Grits Grill. The service is speedy (odd for the South, but that's another story). They are only open Breakfast & Lunch, but as far as I'm concerned they are all about Breakfast. Big Breakfasts.
Most of us order eggs and grits, but the pancakes are worthy of mention.
Since this is OBX they can fit in big groups but prepare to wait, no reservations taken. Do what we do, send the earliest riser to put your name on the list and have them call everyone else when the table is almost ready.
The hardest thing to do at Grits Grill is remember that you'll be putting a bathing suit on after stuffing your face with breakfast.

“Great shrimp and grits! ”
Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

We drove out of our way to go here and were not disappointed! Food was great. I had the specialty breakfast wrap of eggs, spinach and avocado and it was very good. The biscuits appear homemade and were delicious. This was the second time my husband had and grits while we were in obx and he felt these were better than the other breakfast place we went to. We'll go back!

“Stuff your fill at Grits and Grill!”
Reviewed June 18, 2014

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Cooks are quick and efficient, wait staff friendly and prompt. Don't do grits myself, but the other entres are well prepared, well and quickly served. Conveniently located in a large shopping plaza and right next to the Outer Banks Hospital!

“Just ok. ”
Reviewed June 14, 2014 via mobile

We ate breakfast here our last day. It reminds me of the old short order lunch counters that used to be very popular. The place was packed and people waiting outside. The service was pretty fast considering how busy they were. The food was ok. Kind of hard to mess up eggs and grits, though my grits are definitely better. The pancakes were so so. Tasted a lot like mcdonalds pancakes. Nothing fancy. Rather expensive on something's though - bowl of fresh fruit almost $6 and had 2 strawberries, 4 pieces of fresh pineapple and cantelope and a little slice of orange. Pretty small. Bowl looked rather empty. Otherwise just ok.
