Description: Grits Grill is a decidedly southern place to have a great breakfast or lunch year round. It's open till 2 pm daily. Most of the cooking is done right behind the diner style front counter. Eggs any style, chipped beef, omelettes, hotcakes and of course grits (cooked just about any style) are breakfast specialties and served anytime. Lunch is full of specials, deli offerings and big, juicy burgers. Owned locally. Staff is well known for being warm and friendly. Come have breakfast with us anytime!

“GOOD GRITS, GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME-OH-MY”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This breakfast place slings grits and eggs with the best of them.

I like grits and these grits are about as good as grits get. Creamy and savory even before any butter, salt or pepper.

The biscuits are just a wee bit smaller than a grown man's noggin. Mercy. And hot and fluffy. And delicious even with nuthin on em.

I had ham and eggs. A humongous slice of salt cured ham, cooked just right - not too much thankyouverymuch. Eggs perfectly done just as ordered, those grits and that biscuit. I had to take a nap and it was only 10:30AM.

Now look here, this place ain't fancy. There aren't a bunch of hung over commercial fishermen drinking beer and discount Bloody Marys. Now, as an aside, that whole thing is ok too but if thats what you're hankering for go on down to Sam and Omies in S Nags Head and just drink your breakfast cause what that place cooks isn't worh eating in my opinion.

But when you are on the Outer Banks and wanmt to get your breakfast on, this here is just what the doctor ordered.

EGGS UP!

“Lunch stop”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Heading out for a girls weekend and stopped here for a quick bite. Staff is super friendly and even sold us some scarves as we were waiting for our meal. That's marketing at it's best! We may have all ordered the crabcakes. While they were good. They weren't anything special. They were served on a basic hamburger bun. They came with chips or grits. Ordering the fries or onion rings were an additional cost. I had a side of plain grits and didn't like the fake buttery flavor or whatever was added to them. This was one time when maybe stopping by a fast food restaurant would have been a better choice...

Breakfast specials are great, service is fast, seating is tight, locals abound, lots of meets and greets going on.
Restrooms were spotless for such a busy environment.

“Diner-Like Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

There are a limited number of restaurants open in the off-season in Nags Head. Grits Grill is one of the few places that serves breakfast, so it makes the perfect morning stop on the way home after a winter visit to the Outer Banks. DIner-like atmosphere & menu/prices. Located at the north end of the Outer Banks Mall.

“Great for breakfast”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

Good homestyle food for breakfast- eggs, sausage, biscuits, omelets, etc. The biscuits are ginormous and really good! They also have a good seafood omelet, and I like their croissant sandwich. Service is always fast and friendly.
