Description: Grits Grill is a decidedly southern place to have a great breakfast or lunch year round. It's open till 2 pm daily. Most of the cooking is done right behind the diner style front counter. Eggs any style, chipped beef, omelettes, hotcakes and of course grits (cooked just about any style) are breakfast specialties and served anytime. Lunch is full of specials, deli offerings and big, juicy burgers. Owned locally. Staff is well known for being warm and friendly. Come have breakfast with us anytime!

“Highs and Lows”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Grits Grill is better than most breakfast spots on the Outer Banks, but their weakness is inconsistency. On the high side, their biscuits are the best by far, and their omelettes are always excellent. My main two concerns are their inconsistency with regard to hygiene, and availability of ingredients. Keep an eye on the plate preparation section on the left side behind the counter. The person there often uses her/his hands to place food on the plates. Just see for yourself and judge it against your comfort level. One Sunday morning, we were one of the first families to be seated, yet they said they had run out of fruit for a fruit bowl, and out of pecans for pecan pancakes. That is just no acceptable for a breakfast establishment.

Inexpensive but tasty breakfast! We go there every trip! It's the only plave down there that serves scrapple.

“Great breakfast!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

We always eat breakfast here on our way out at the end our OBX vacation. It gives us something to look forward to on an otherwise sad day. The breakfast and service are always good. I can never decide between the sausage and chipped beef gravy. Both are wonderful. If you ask, they will give you a biscuit with one of each on each half. Service and food are both good and I look forward to returning.

“lunch the first day”

Real good food and lookesd and felt like a '60's' Happy Days soda shop. Their own clam chowder was really good. Alot of food for the money.
