“Couldn't ask for more!!!”

Great food, service and atmosphere, all rolled into one! We had such a great time on Thursday evening inside, we decided to go back for another perspective. We decided on outside dining with cocktails, another great choice! Our server was wonderful and several managers stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything. Water was promptly served while we checked out the menu, (without asking I might add), followed by great cocktails. If you like oysters, then the Oyster Sampler is a must. We watched the various meals being served and they all looked plentiful and beautifully displayed. Happy Hour starts at 4, but don't get there too early or you might miss the beautiful sunset. Enjoy~

“OMG to die for food! Visited there 8/29/2013”

My huband, son and I had an early dinner on the outdoor seating area of the "pirate ship" The staff, and waiter were very nice and kid friendly with my seven year old. I really wasn't expecting much, but the food was amazing! We had the "Battered Buffalo Tuna Bites" for an appetizer, which were just perfect, not too hot, not too mild either, and the blue cheese crumbles that topped it off hit the spot. Thought after an appetizer like that the dinner couldn't be that good too, but they definitely proved me wrong. I had the "John Rackham's Adobo Chicken" I want to go on and on about how good this was, but to sum it up, between the Jamican Jerk seasoning and the spiced sweet mango ginger sauce I swear it melted in my mouth. My husband got the "Atlantic Mahi", and he not being a man of many words also went on about how good it was. My seven year old, worst critic there is actually ate all of his steak! Parents know that alone speaks volumes! Weather was great, the view and atmosphere were relaxing and enjoyable. Few kids playing corn hole in the grassy area by the outdoor decks. Over all we enjoyed our meal there so much I asked for the manager just to make sure he knew what a great job they were doing.

“Awful dining experience from start to finish...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

Our waiter was so rude. He never introduced himself or asked what we would like to drink. He just walked over and stood at our table looking at us. It was so awkward. He poured us water and there was something floating it both our glasses. It looked like fish. So gross. The Mahi Mahi was gross. It was overcooked and tasted like it had a mixture of jellies on top, super sweet. Luckily they did take it off our bill. The Chef's Mixed Grill was awful. All three pieces of fish tasted exactly the same. They certainly were not fresh. We frequent the OBX every year but will not be back here.

“Good atmosphere on deck”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

We had dinner here on the deck last Thursday night. The scallops in captains platter seemed undercooked, and the rest of the meal, while decent, wasn't anything memorable. The singer/songwriter playing on deck that night was good, though, so we decided we would try the deck bar again on Saturday for at least an appetizer and drinks, and perhaps try dinners again thinking maybe it had just been a bad night. Interestingly, we sat near the outside deck bar which looked very well stocked and active, but when we ordered our drinks they went inside to mix them. We then realized everyone else's drinks were being filled inside as well. Perhaps they only had one bartender that night -- inside, but considering how active the bar area outside was, it just seemed odd. So anyway, we then had the calamari as an appetizer -- well, this was the worst calamari we've had in a VERY long time. Extremely chewy. That did it for us -- we went to the restaurant just down the road (Millers) for dinner that night (of course I'll write that one separately - but it was good).
