“Whalebone excels - once again!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

Greatest fish market anywhere! This year we got their fresh flounder, grouper, shrimp and crab. All were excellent! The grouper was unbelievably good -- sauteed in butter and garlic, and served with a wedge of lemon. Easy to prepare and fantastic to eat. I saw on Trip Advisor that the seafood sauce at Whalebone was very good, so I tried it this year. Better than very good ... we all loved it. I have to say that getting the fresh fish from Whalebone is one of the things that makes our annual visit to Nags Head so wonderful!

“Excellent Seafood”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

Brought a bushel of crabs, some clams and snow crab legs for dinner and they were seasoned and cooked to perfection. My girlfriend thought the bushel was a little light on weight. But everyone was happy with the taste. Service was good and my order was ready when we arrived.

“Awesome quality of local seafood”
Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

They have locally caught fish (many variety), little neck clams, oysters, shrimp and crab. The staff is incredibly nice. One of them even let me sample a claw of a crab. I got a dozen little neck clams and 1/2 lb of shrimp, which I got lightly spiced for $15. Prices here vary daily because of market demand. They caught their seafood daily! You can get your seafood fresh or steamed. A lot of people here carry out because they are mostly taking it home.

“Disappointing Attitudes and Service - what a difference in a year!”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Wow! In 2013 we visited Daniel's four times for live crabs and seafood and they were marvelous. We even wrote a great review on Tripadvisor to share the great experience.
What a difference a year makes.... not a good one. We returned this year on our Nags Head vacation to grumpy, unhelpful people and terrible service. It was shocking. The crabs were still good, but they don't answer their phones. When they do they are short and curt. When we went to pick up our crabs they had cooked them and tried to tell us it was our problem. Last year they gave us the seasoning, this year they charged us $7 for it. A friend recommended O'Neal's so we bought our remaining crabs there this year and it was great. Tell Daniel he lost some loyal annual customers who spend over $1,000 on seafood during their Nags Head trip each year.
