We stopped by the Cafe' around 7:30 - 8:00 PM for the first time when we found ourselves unable to get into another nearby restaurant without a long wait. We were seated immediately at the Cafe'. The service was quick and efficient. Sharon (?) did a good job.
They had my PBR and the Queen's wine choice. I admit I forget what she ordered to eat, but she proclaimed it good.
I saw few items that caught my fancy that night. To be fair, I had already eaten too much for one day. I intended to eat light. Good luck! So, I had gumbo (shrimp and andoullie sausage with veg's surrounding a mound of white rice.). It was good. It was spicy. It was not what I expected. Rather than a brown New Orleans "gravy", it was more like a red tomato chowder base. I guess I'd call it beach gumbo. I'd do that again, just not again the next time. Next time, I'll try something else.
But ... even at the beach ... I think that $20.00 is a bit too much to pay for beach gumbo! ;-)
