Owner description: Two of the highest sand dunes on the East Coast are located here, providing excellent take-off points for hang gliders.

If you have not been you have to go. The sand dunes are like nothing I have ever seen. Would have liked to have tried the hang gliding but didn't have time.

What a wonderful location! Great for views of the sunset or flying your kite anytime! The kids love to run up and down the dunes. Most of the family has taken hang-gliding lessons here as well. Just a great place!

I had no idea these dunes were on OBX. Very interesting place with knowledgeable state park staff.

Ask them about the Fulgurites. Very cool - the kids will love exploring here.

Wow, this is a must visit. Amazing natural beauty. If you have kids it's a great place for outdoor entertainment and free. Several people were flying kites and kids sliding down the hills. They also offer hang gliding. If you walk all the hills, it's an easy climb even though the dunes are between 80 to 100 feet high. A beauty that is truly a must visit, at least once.

Very pretty and spectacular views. Suggest warm clothing, comfy shoes, and a kite! Sleds optional :). My body ached the next day from climbing, but it was worth it!
