My wife and I visited the region for a short vacation and since we brought our dogs, we decided to take them to the River Walk. It is a nice trail and well-maintained. We were able to view the river from several vantage points and overall we had a good time.

I live in a town with two river walks and although they are nice- Murphy trumps ours. Very scenic, peaceful, lots of vistas and cool points of interest. We took our dog, who also had a blast. Parking was free, perfect weather, good exercise too- can't get much better.

Murphy has done an excellent job creating this river walk. The weather right now is so perfect to take a stroll by the winding river, enjoy the outdoors with the gentle breeze while looking a ducks and birds. It is so serene and calming in this natural setting. We do not tire of walking around this area and have enjoyed the expansion. My hubby also enjoys jogging there.

A beautiful walk that skirts downtown Murphy as it follows the Valley & Hiwassee Rivers. Much used by families, walkers, runners, and dog walkers as well. It includes a canoe trail complete with several launch points. And don't miss the Great Leech overlook, where you'll learn the Cherokee legend of The Great Leech that lives below. Much of the trail is wheelchair accessible.

You have a paved walkway along the river, there are many plantings and landscaping. There are benches and picnic spots, there is also a gravel walk which we haven't gotten to yet but it's on our to-do list for this fall.
