We had heard a lot about this place and knew that we had to stop and eat. We arrived sort of early for lunch (11:20) and a line was already forming. We took a couple of seats at the bar so we got a seat fairly quickly. We ordered the pork chop sandwich. You can get a lot on it. I got slaw, chili, tomato and mustard. My wife it the same but added onions. Drinks were in styrofoam cups and the sandwiches arrived wrapped in paper, but who cares, this was a diner. The sandwich was heavenly. But, just as a note, this is a very small place and extremely busy so don't expect a lot of fancy stuff. This is a simple, quick diner. Please make this place a part of your visit to the area.

Was not sure what to expect, but it was pretty good.
Had heard good things so we were in town and had to check it out.
If you go, try and get there early cause it is real small and the lines get long.
Got there a little early so there was no wait, but later that day the line was out the door and half way up the block!
We split a Pork Chop Sandwich and had some tea, nothing fancy, Styrofoam cups and plastic utensils.
I thought it was a bit over priced, but you are paying for a land mark mega-famous sandwich.
It was pretty darn good too...

It was a great little stop for a quick meal. The service was great
and we were told to have a piece of pie, which was quite good, as well.

Snappy's Lunch serves up it's famous pork chop sandwiches to all the tourists reliving the days of Mayberry from the Andy Griffith Show. It's like stepping back in time. People line the sidewalk next to the 1950's black and white sheriff's car and Floyd's Barber Shop as they wait for a seat. Not a long wait if you're there before 1pm. You can watch the chef through the window as he flips an endless supply of pork chops on the grill.

The old fashion luncheonette is bustling with customers and hustling waitstaff. If you eat gluten free, just ask for your pork chop cooked unbattered with the lettuce, tomato, onions and coleslaw served on the side. Traditional sweet tea, unsweetened tea and non alcoholic beverages are offered. It's not fancy, but it's fun and part of the Mayberry experience.

My husband and I decided, in advance, to forego any healthy eating habits in order to bask in the glory of a famous "Porkchop Sandwich". We were seated at a very small bar in a very crowded little diner. The waitress tossed paper menus at us and seemed a little miffed when we actually looked at them. We ordered our sandwich and as they were out of all drinks with the exception of sodas, we opted for a coke. The sandwich arrived in a paper "boat" and the soda was served in a Styrofoam coffee cup. The sandwich as horribly messy, as it was served with chili, slaw, onions and a little packet of mustard. Sadly, all were rather bland. The only napkins available were VERY thin, VERY small. The whole experience was rushed and not very enjoyable.
