“Excellent food, intimate atmosphere”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

Overpriced, small wine and drink portions. Good menu, and well prepared and presented. Right across from the Morehead City water front.

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Six of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner last night, August 11. We had a reservation. Four of us arrived early and we were encouraged to sit at the table while we waited for the others to arrive. I mention this because I have been to other restaurants who will not sit you until the entire party is ready. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine while we looked over the menu awaiting the others in our party, to arrive.

We started with the homemade sausage pizza as an appetizer and it was wonderful. Great flavor. A basket of fresh crusty bread arrived shortly after, with whipped butter. Each couple shared an iceberg wedge salad. The dressing was delicious and tasted fresh as if it had just been made that day.

Two in the party had the duck breast. The duck was moist and the skin very crispy. It was cooked perfectly. I had the grouper special which was pan seared and seasoned perfectly. it was accompanied by black bean and corn ravioli and green beans. Another person had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection, and literally melted in your mouth.

We also shared three desserts - creme brulee, chocolate cobbler and key lime pie. Each was prepared beautifully, and tasted even better than they looked.

The experience was wonderful, the staff was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and we will be back!

“Another great meal at the Windansea!”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

Our family often meets on the coast of North Carolina. We stay in Atlantic Beach. It is a must, however, to cross the bridge and go over to Morehead City to the Windansea. A small restaurant, it has great atmosphere and wonderful service. Our meals were perfection. The risotto is to die for, the fish (we had both the grouper and the red snapper) were excellent. It is a classy place and a great place for any special occasion. The pizza is also very good if you are looking to be more budget conscious. Windansea...always a real treat!

“Dinner with friends”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Had dinner with my husband and five of our friends and fellow Yacht Club members.
We all enjoyed it very much. The food and service were both very good. Tried the Scallops with tomato jalapeno cream sauce., which was blended very well. Expected the jalepeno to be stronger flavor and more spicy but glad it wasn't. Good wine to go with our steaks.
Only change I would like to see is Coke Products vice Pepsi. Rum and Coke is Coca -Cola not Pepsi. Will definitely go back.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

We ate dinner here last night and it was wonderful. One in our party needed a gluten-free entrée and the chef offered “safe” menu options and even offered to make a special dish for her. Guests at our table ordered, steaks, shrimp and grits, grouper, snapper and wood fired oven pizza. Every dish was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was attentive. The restaurant is small but just right. I will most definitely be back. Reservations recommended.
