We went searching for a good breakfast joint early Saturday morning. There didn't seem to be many on Atlantic beach, so we crossed the bridge and headed toward downtown Morehead City. Being early, there wasn't much traffic, and we were able to espy a small diner that looked to have a good variety of patrons. From what we could tell there were mostly locals and a few tourists eating.
The diner is a typical Southern restaurant. Friendly staff, good coffee, and great southern classics on the menu. I opted for the biscuits and gravy (DO NOT PASS THESE UP) with bacon and eggs. The meal was delicious and was plenty of food to keep me full until dinner. The wife had a breakfast sandwich which, again, was plenty of delicousness.
In short, good food, great service and local flavor is well worth the trip into town from the beach.
