“The oysters were outstanding”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

We had them 'flash' fried, couldn't remember when we had any as good, and we order them when ever we see them: crunchy exterior, raw interior, great tasting and fantastic quality...as were the scallops that came with my grouper special ($28). But the wilted lettuce on the main course plate was off-putting, and the rice tasted like it was converted. The Bailey's Cream chocolate mousse cake was great.

“Succulant Oysters”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We could not have been more pleased than with Floyds 1921. It takes some effort to locate but then well worth it. We had flash fried oysters that were as tasty and fresh as they came out of the shell. No breading. Also, the soup of the day was mushroom and it is comparable to soup found in the mushroom capital, Kennett Square, PA.

The menu includes tapas, "low-country" seafood fixings such as shrimp and grits, meatloaf, fried oyster & Andouille gumbo, crab cakes, and all the beef and chicken entrees you might like. Wonderful service and the drinks are perfect. They do know how to make a dry martini. We have not found a better restaurant in the area.

“First Visit”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

This was our first visit, but it will not be our last. We have been missing a real treat. The restaurant is in a two-story house. If you are looking a good view, you won't find it here. It's tucked away on a side street near the Morehead City bridge. There were some unusual offerings on the menu, such as Fried Green Tomatoes and Collards. I had the Fried Oyster Andouille Sausage Gumbo. It was great. Others in my group had fried seafood platters and Encrusted Tuna. The tuna was very good and cooked perfectly as requested, medium rare. We were all happy with our selections. Meals come with a salad, homemade dressings, and crusty bread. Everything we tried was delicious. Compared to other good restaurants in the area, I thought Floyd's was a good value. Waitress was very friendly and attentive.

“Good atmosphere, good food.”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Nestled a block off the main drag just before you leave Morehead City for Beaufort. Floyds is a place I go for lunch whenever I am in town. I enjoy the fried green tomato and the sandwiches are made well. The prices are reasonable, if just a tad on the high side. The service is good, and you can usually hold a normal volume conversation with your dining companions.

“Best Restaurant in Morehead City”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

Expansive menu, great service and outstanding food. Seafood dishes are prepared perfectly and with flair Try the fried green tomatoes appetizer{with shrimp}.....we get every time. Blackened Trigger fish with mashed potatoes and fried okra was unbelievable.Wife had shrimp stuffed with crab meatand cream cheese over pasta{she loved it} Wife followed up meal with their home made Key lime pie and we finished the meal with the best cup of decaf coffee I have had in a restaurant. Waitress very attentive and our beverage glasses never saw empty. Atmosphere nice in this old house that has many rooms for dining. Chef will cook to medical needs {diabetics}Price s are moderately high but you get what you pay for and it is well worth it. We eat there at least once or twice every time we go to the beach each summer. Try them, you won't be disappointed.
