Description: Pomodoro's specializes in Italian American favorites and authentic Stone-Hearth pizza and baked goods. All pizzas are made by well trained “Pizziolas” (pizza chefs) using a guarded, signature sauce recipe with over 18 ingredients; then cooked in a true stone-hearth oven to bring out the nutty, toasty flavors in the special wheat flour the dough is made with. Sauces, dough, dressings, desserts and the like are all made in-house daily from the best ingredients available. Their signature Marinara sauce takes most of the day to prepare being made with 2 types of wine, onions, garlic and numerous spices & herbs, of which the exact recipe is a carefully guarded secret. Subtly sweet with well blended flavors it will remind you of the best Italian restaurants in the New York. Meatballs are made from scratch and and many guests say they rival those that their “Nonna” made years ago. The Marsala is sweet with wine and velvety smooth on the tongue with a generous swirl of fresh butter. Picattas are tangy and tart, with fresh squeezed lemons & white wine. Zuppa de Pesce is an overflowing bowl of garlicy tomato broth, brimming with assorted seafood over perfectly cooked al dente pasta. All the items on the menu share one thing in common, they are obviously made from scratch by cooks and Chefs that know their craft. But what’s a wonderful entrée without a delicious beverage? No worries, the fully stocked bar features all the classics as well as bartender created specialties. Craft beers, many locally brewed, are on tap with an ever changing selection. The wine list features over 50 wines, predominantly Italian all affordably priced. With all the selections it might be hard to choose, but don’t worry, they also offer tasting “flights” of both craft beers and wines!

The food here is awesome. We are repeat customers having sampled pizza, pasta and salads. They even have Italian cookies! Best Italian in the North Charlotte area!

This is out third visit to this establishment and we have never been impressed with the meals. There is an extensive Italian menu and the wait staff (especially Angie!) go out of their way to make your meal enjoyable but even they cannot make up for "Americanized Italian" blah food.

The house salad was extremely fresh, well presented and the house dressing was a delight. The bread was abundan

Last night we ordered Chicken Piccata. The chicken was a thick cutlet and not flattened with a tenderizer between two pieces of wax paper. The chicken was thick and tasteless. Lemon is supposed to be sparingly added but they over did it until the sauce tasted sour! The pasta was 'al dente' though and well done however, too bad they ruined the sauce. Capers were dumped onto the pasta and did little to overcome the poor preparation.

Another dish ordered was the tortellini in marinara sauce topped with mozzarella. It too was tasteless. The tortellini has a cardboard consistency. Parmesan, red pepper and salt had to be added abundantly to enhance the flavor. Stay home, buy some BJ tortellini and add chef boyardee canned sauce and you'll save a bundle and have an edible meal.

So another visit and another disappointment! We figured we give it another chance but last night probably will be the last.

Very nice place. My first time there with boyfriend. We sat at the bar for dinner and so glad we did. The bartenders were very friendly and personable. The meal was good as well. I had a small appetite chicken Alfredo. Sauce was a little lacklustre. Portion size was nice for bariatric eaters and the house salad was great. Bf had the lasagna and it was awesome. I got a little taste before he licked his plate clean. Nice crowd, nice bar, great people! We'll be back.

Usually spaghetti leaves a heavy feeling, but no so at Pomodoro's. The spaghetti with meat sauce is outstanding and the spaghetti noodles are light, but substantial. The warm bread is a good accompaniment to the meal. The Italian dressing on the salad is extremely tasty. My husband had the meat balls which were large and well seasoned.
