Description: A wonderful locally owned traditional New York / Chicago Chophouse in a historic Circa 1888 two-story building in the center of downtown historic Mooresville. The menu is quite diverse offering Great 30 day aged certified USDA Choice corn-fed beef, fresh seafood, pastas, salads and other house specialties. We pour a generous 8oz glass of wine, a true 16oz pint of craft beer and an unbelievable 2oz premium pour in all of our mixed drinks. Stop by and experience why our service and food have earned us the name Epic Chophouse. Reservations are recommended but not required. Please use the complimentary Valet right in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is open 5 - 10 pm Monday - Thursday, 5 - 11 pm Friday and Saturday, and 5 - 9 pm on Sunday. Brunch is served from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm on Sunday. The bar is open 4 - 10 pm Sunday - Thursday and 4 pm - 12 am Friday and Saturday.

We had an impromptu dinner here and were pleased overall. I had not heard of this restaurant but noticed it when driving through downtown Mooresville. The complementary valet was nice. We did not have reservations and they appeared busy. The wait was to be about 15 minutes so we waited in the bar. There were several seats available at the bar which was unusual but nice. At the the table the waitress was very nice and the menu is fairly extensive. There were several people attending to us so we were never low on drinks or attention. I had a 16 oz prime rib and my wife had a veal chop. She said her entree was excellent. Mine was good, tender and done just right. A couple of times an owner or a manager came by to check on us and I did see them actively working the room and checking on others. I had a creme brule' for dessert which tasted good but was not of good consistency. Too runny for a custard. The atmosphere was very nice and as loud as you would expect for a busy Friday night. You knew that even though the experience was upscale you were still in Mooresville because of the people in jeans, shorts, tee shirts and other inappropriate garb for a nice dinner.

Visiting our son in moorsville he treated us to dinner. White table clothes.
tuxedo waiters, fabulous menu, top food quality. If you just had the side dishes you would be impressed. My 16 oz pork chop was a 10. This was big city dining at a small town price.
100 year old building with tomorrows cuisine.

My family and I went to Epic for Easter brunch and it was lovely. The food was great, Service was good as usual, and atmosphere is charming. We have been there for dinner without our kids and have always enjoyed it. This was our first time with kids (4 & 1) and first time doing the Easter brunch. I think we decided it will be a new tradition!

My sons ordered the angus ribeye medium-rare. It came out medium well so they cooked another one. When it came out, they waited for us to cut it to see if it was medium rare. Instead, it was very rare. The manager (maybe, he never really talked to us or identified himself), said, "Wow, that is really rare, let us re-do that!" So, they cooked it more and it was STILL rare. At this point, we told them to just forget it but he said they really wanted to make it right and wouldn't charge us for it. Our kids were starving by this time so the FOURTH time they brought it out we just took it. It was overcooked in some areas and undercooked in others. We couldn't enjoy our food either as it had come before theirs so we felt bad eating it. We gave them our mashed potatoes while they waited. Also, we had to keep talking to staff each time they brought the steak out so it was not a very peaceful dinner. They took the steak off of the bill, which was nice, but no one even came and told us they were sorry or talked to us (other than our poor waitress). This was a stressful, expensive dinner so we won't be back. There are just too many other nice steakhouses in this area that can easily cook a steak medium rare.
