“Historic Hospitality/Outstanding Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2013

The Inn is a lovely and historic series of buildings located just outside of Chapel Hill, and is easy to find. We stayed in the Schoolmaster's Room which had beautiful antiques and a four poster bed and a thoroughly updated bathroom. Breakfast was equally impressive, a gourmet treat at a long table with wonderful people from all over to chat with, one of the benefits of staying at a small inn. Staying here gave me a sense of what it would be like to live in an historic house. 1RST TIP: for those who have never stayed at a B&B or in an historic/vintage house (like our upstairs neighbors in 'Rusty's Room'), please be aware that these old houses are not sound insulated like modern construction-- you can pretty much hear everything..... just a friendly suggestion! 2ND TIP: this historic structure has stairs and is not ADA-accessible.

The Inn at Bingham School is one of my all-time favorites. The innkeepers are interesting and thoughtful, and interesting people gather around their table for breakfast. Great conversations in a charming and historic setting.

My two sisters and I stayed here overnight to attend a wedding nearby. The Inn arranged for us to have 2 adjoining rooms. One was 1809, which has a handsome 4 poster bed, which adjoins another room upstairs, Rusty's Room, which has a king formed by pushing 2 twins together. They separated the 2 twin beds for us so each of us could have a separate bed. Both rooms had lovely antique furniture, but modern bathroom facilites, even including jetted tubs. We were very comfortable resting here after the wedding festivities at the nearby Rigmor House. The next morning our host served our breakfast in the handsome dining room, on a fine table he built himself. We were offered fresh fruit and yogurt, delicious scrambled eggs with herbs, bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee. One of my sisters asked for tea and had her choice of several varieties. Yummy chocolate chip scones completed the elegant breakfast. The Inn is on a beautiful property and it was a perfect morning for a scenic walk before starting our journey home. I would happily recommend the inn to anyone who enjoys an elegant bed and breakfast inn, and this one could not have been more perfect for our needs.

This is a lovely little home that is filled with history. It provides a wonderful mini-vaction! It was quiet and provided time for us to walk the grounds and enjoy the outdoors! The food was fresh and delicious.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Inn at Bingham School while visiting our children whom are undergraduates at UNC-CH. The inn is located about 10-12 miles outside of Chapel Hill right on SR 54. Our stay was delightful. The inn itself has been beautifully restored at some time in the past and the decisions made on historic aesthetics were perfect. Our room, "The 1801", was lovely with a four poster bed, antique furnishings, gas fireplace [that kept the room toasty warm] and a nicely-sized, well-appointed modern bathroom. The inn's common spaces were beautiful, as well.
Breakfast was served each morning around 8:30 AM and both of our meals were delicious - our first morning we had huevos rancheros; our last morning a German apple pancake souffle. The inn serves a local coffee blend that was dynamite.
We would highly recommend the Inn at Bingham School.

My husband and I stayed in the Milk House here and were completely blown away. Both our rooms and the main house are gorgeously decorated with antiques, french country fabrics and charming prints. We had an excellent large breakfast every morning and enjoyed our peaceful view of open lawns and tall trees. The Innkeepers were lovely and we felt like the overall service and quality of experience easily rivaled some of the 5 star hotels we stay at.

Did not read the information on visitnc.com fully and booked a room but this place is not IN Chapel Hill, though it advertises as such. really, it's more than 10 miles west of Chapel Hill on corner of Hwy 54 and Mebane Oaks Road.

Room Tip: Clarify locatio/town
