Recently went to Wolf and sadly the best part of the visit was the fireplace in the lodge. The slopes lacked coherent grooming, like skiing over frozen marbles. Like most tiny ski areas in the south they have an interesting way of counting trails. the place looks like it was clearcut a few years ago and has odd wooden walls defining trails - which leads to extremely icy areas when coupled with the poor grooming. The lighting on the slopes was poor, often causing you to go thru dark areas on trails. Staff was "odd" at best, they were nice, but it was hard to tell who worked there and who was just their friends hanging out in the lodge. I'm sure with the right management this place could be good, maybe a person or 2 that actually cares about slope conditions and lighting - Until then stay away - plenty of better options in NC.
