A very good experience and a lot of fun. For those that have traveled to Mammoth Cave or Carlsbad Caverns, this will seem a bit small, but it's still worth the stop. You really can't beat the $7.50 entrance fee! Tour guide was knowledgeable and able to answer questions from the group. Loved the stories and humor mixed in with the monologue. Be sure to wear a jacket in the summer... it's very cool and damp below ground and expect drips on the head from the ceiling. A hat would be a good idea.

Ok, so you don't often get to see the inside of a mountain, so it's pretty cool, it doesn't take long... I would say it's worth the stop. The soft spoken guide gave us some history about the cave but I hoped a little more.

Linville Caverns is a great experience all around. A dripping underground experience with trout swimming through, bats tucked into crevices, and really fascinating geology. However, the experience is led by tour guides that are essentially tattooed, pierced locals with thick southern accents who don't speak proper English. Our guide today knew very little about the history or geology of the caves, couldn't answer questions directed at either subject, and simply joked around with our group as if we were a bunch of campers at an amusement park. It was extremely disappointing. One of the guides was spitting as we waited to enter the caves. This is one of those exhibits that could be a well-groomed, professional tourist experience like similar excursions in Mexico and Costa Rica, but instead felt like a operation dominated by kids seeking a summer job alternative to the mall, rather than professionally staffed, engaged tour company. Still, it's recommended to see and experience.

We enjoyed touring the caverns. It had been raining in the mountains for several weeks prior to our visit and there was a lot of flowing water inside the cavern. We got pretty wet but it was expected and it was a lot of fun.

The family decided to visit as we were in the middle of a downpour. The caverns are relitively small compared to other caverns and caves we have visited in the past. I thought the history of the cave and the fact that it was once used by civil war soldiers was fascinating. There are fish that live in the stream in the cave too!? The tour guides are young and knowledgeable. The gift shop on site is well stocked and has a variety of items. We thought the grounds were well kept and the bathrooms were reasonably clean. It's family friendly and priced right- I recommend this for anyone wanting to do a lil "spielunking".
