“Great value makes this a winner!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

After shopping several chain and NON-chain hotel/motels, we landed at the Meadowlark. We couldn't have been more pleased here. Cleanliness was most important, but price also was very important. Since we're here to see the sites, and not hangout in the room all day, this place was PERFECT. At first we were only going to stay a couple of days, but we ended up staying 7 nights! Very clean room and bathroom. They were a little dated, but everything was in perfect order and quite spacious. Great hot water and water pressure too. The bed was almost as comfortable as ours at home! The pool was beautiful and warm. The property managers always had time to chat and it felt like we were like talking with old friends! The laundry worked great and was only $1 a load. Our room was on the main building in the back and we LOVED the privacy. Plenty of room for pets, both inside room and to safely run and play in the back -away from the 4-lane main road. Rather large property with a lot going on, so there is room to fine-tune some details. But we will ABSOLUTELY recommend this to anyone! We WILL be staying there again.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are quieter and offer more privacy.

I've been staying at this property for years with my family and its always great. The property management has changed over the past few years but the new management are extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the rooms are a little dated but are clean and well kept. This motel is not a Franchised property but is locally owned which is why I pass by some of the new property's and continue to come to The MEADOW LARK. Thanks Shirley see you next year for the car show.

Room Tip: Go to J. Arthur's Best Steak in town

The bed matress was sagging and I could have slept better on the floor,,there was a microwave oven but no place to plug it in,,the coffee pot was nasty,no internet signal except outside, dead bugs on the bath room floor ,everyone knows not to use scott toilet paper,,was the worst place I ever stayed in.

Room Tip: avoid this place if you can

This was my fourth stay at the Meadowlark however I hadn't been there in two years. Although it is an older motel it used to be kept up by the owner's son and daughter-n-law who lived on the property while they managed it.

Our room was nearly a $100.00 and filthy. Dirty bathroom, dirty bed sheets, and poorly working air conditioner. The soap for the shower was paper thin and so small it would disintegrate before you soaped yourself up. I've seen small bars of soap but theirs was a joke. When we asked for a couple extra they would only allow one extra.

The staff was rude and didn't want to be bothered. There are lots of nicer motels in Maggie Valley that are cheaper. Stay away from the Meadowlark Motel if you are looking for cleanliness.

Execllent Motel for a drop in customer
Recently bought an Audi A4 cabrolet just to take weekend trips.
As such this last weekend we drove to Maggie Valley for a short car trip. Most often when we go to Maggie Valley we stay at Rocky Waters. They were closed for off off season between ski and spring season. What to do? We travel with our dog.Went looking found Meadowlark Mote. lOwner was most friendly and helpful.Had a pet friendly room available. did not upcharge for pet. A good price for room. Clean and well stocked. We will be back you should too!

I have stayed a couple of times at this motel but it has gone downhill since my stay in April, 2013. The price of almost $100 per day was upsetting for the quality of the room. The owners are super friendly as well as pet friendly. However, the rooms are becoming aged, in need of updating and/or repair. The bathroom was not as clean as I would like. The sheets on one of the beds seemed to not be clean and fresh. The grounds are nice, and well manicured with a beautiful mountain stream running along the back of the property. They also have a nice pavilion with a spot for a warm bonfire.
