“Nice stop”

We had a nice lunch here. Lots of Diner food on the menu with a nice little salad bar.
Prices seem on par for other locations in the area, service was good. We'd go back

“Probably wouldn't return”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

Ate here because other locations for breakfast were extremely busy. Can tell it has been around for awhile. Nothing fancy. Got the gravy and biscuit with a side of potatoes. Not horrible but not worth a repeat visit. Service was good.

“Great quick breakfast place”

Standard diner fare for breakfast, which was exactly what we were in the mood for that day, was good, served quickly, and served with a smile.

“Homecooking done right”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

When traveling, we avoid chains and look for locally owned eateries. Last week, we ventured across the mountain from Cherokee, NC and discovered this place by accident. It was 8 p.m. and many things were closed for the season, but it was open and we went in. We were greeted and seated immediately and a waitress was close behind. I had turkey and dressing and my husband had fried chicken. Both of us had the REAL mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was excellent and the diner has sooo much charm. It's been around for over 50 years and that in itself speaks volumes for it. Be sure to read the newspaper articles that are framed on the walls. Lots of local flavor and colorful characters, including someone who has eaten there 10,000 times AND a local moonshiner who liked the grub.
