“Warm log cabin atmosphere!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

We have enjoyed several meals there. It is a bit pricey, however the food is good, atmosphere is great and service is great. So if you are in the area and want to splurge a little it is a great place to treat your loved one.

“Views to die for, but pricey for what you get”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Wonderful ambiance - amazing views, food is very good and served homestyle. Very plentiful amounts of food. You can BYOB, I suggest you bring your own mixers. My only complaint would be I think it is pricey.

“Pretty good but pricey”
Reviewed September 25, 2013 via mobile

Our inn keeper suggested we try Smoky Shadows Lodge while in Maggie Valley so we did last night.
About 20 other diners (tourists) were gathered when we arrived listening to a wonderful guitar player and sipping wine.
The log building, fireplace and country decor was very rustic.
After about 45 minutes we were escorted outside and in cafeteria style, lined up and helped ourselves to freshly grilled steak, chicken and all the fixings.
You can sit on the porch looking at the gorgeous countryside from atop the mountainside or go inside.
After dinner we had some very pleasant conversations with other guests while listening to another hour of guitar playing and singing.
Dinner for two plus two glasses of wine and an 18% gratuity brought the bill to $93.00.
We enjoyed the evening but better steak and good can be found elsewhere but it would be hard to beat the ambiance at Smoky Shadows!

“Unique”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

If you want a truly mountain experience, you HAVE to eat here. And you HAVE to have their famous Tomato Pie! Sit out on the deck before dinner with a glass of wine (which you can bring from home). Can't remember if they charge a cork fee but I don't think they do.
