The cabin was great with wonderful veiws all the way around, cabin was very clean, plenty of area for my dog to run with fenced backyard or gated deck, the hot tub made for very relaxing evening to watch the sunset over the mountains the blue ridge parkway was about a mile away, an maggie valley was right down the road with shops an restaurants, an Cherokee is not that far of a ride in the other direction it was a great time an a great place to stay my only regret is not being able to stay longer the owner was very accommodating making sure we arrived safe an that the cabin was in good clean shape when we arrived hopefully we will be able to go again soon

Reviewed May 4, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Wow! I grew up in Western North Carolina, but never tire of going back and this cabin is an ideal retreat with breath taking views all around and around every corner! We enjoyed the different birds, animals, and scenery and of course the hot tub!. It was great way to spend We enjoyed immensely and so glad we booked it when we did because they bookings fill up fast!

“Awesome cabin, view, and property manager totally dedicated to making our stays memorable experience!”
Reviewed September 14, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We rented this cabin for 4 weeks beginning the middle of July 2015 and we, including our 2 labs, could not have enjoyed it more. Everything needed was provided and totally lived up to the ad and all the positive reviews. Jim made it clear he would respect our privacy but was nearby if we needed anything and he'd do his best to make us comfortable. None were really necessary, but Jim did some anyway and was in process of making further upgrades after we begrudgingly had to leave. If you want an out of the way, secluded, beautifully wooded area, high up in the cool mountains, then look no further. This place is AWESOME!

“PERFECT CABIN FOR SPECTACULAR VIEWS, PRIVACY, & PETS!”

My husband and I along with our dogs stayed in Jim's cabin last weekend, and we did not want to leave! We've rented several cabins in the North Carolina Mountains and this is our favorite cabin rental thus far. It was clean and comfortable, and the Jacuzzi on the deck got nice and hot in the cool evenings and had gorgeous views. This is a perfect cabin for dogs in that there is a fenced yard for them to do their business and the deck has gates to keep them confined, as well (if you have dogs that actually listen, this may not be that important to you!). I was expecting a lot of bugs when enjoying the deck, but this was not the case at all. An unexpected surprise for a person who resides in Eastern North Carolina and is used to getting eaten alive in the summertime (A Maggie Valley local told me the bugs do come after rain, but quickly clear out). Much to my husband's delight, we were able to set the air-conditioning unit to 69 degrees, and this kept the cabin nice and chilly during the day. We enjoyed looking around Maggie Valley and downtown Waynesville, which is about a 15 minute drive from the cabin. As far as restaurants go, we ate breakfast at Joey's Pancake House in Maggie Valley, and it was really good (we got seated quickly, but only because we were a party of two. Otherwise, expect a wait). We also had dinner at Bogart's in Waynesville, which was delicious and nice but not at all pretentious. No need to eat out if you like to cook, though. The cabin has everything to prepare a meal. Jim was an amazing host and e-mailed me first thing upon arrival to make sure the cabin was clean and we had everything we needed. His cabin is just up the road, but the surrounding trees separate the properties and provide a lot of privacy. The only time I saw Jim was when I walked to his cabin to see if we could stay another night (sadly, no-new renters were on their way). One thing to consider is that the cabin does have Wi-Fi, but it is not unlimited. Just a warning if you bring a gamer or want to stream movies. Not sure why you'd want to spend too much of your time doing that with such beauty all around you, but just FYI! Thanks again, Jim, for sharing your wonderful cabin and we hope to be back soon!

“Cozy winter wonderland with breath taking views!”

Wife and I recently stayed here with another couple along with our 3 dogs. We are not sure who had a better time, the dogs or ourselves. We have stayed in Maggie Valley before around this time of year for the winter weather and nearby ski resort. This was the best place we have stayed at by far! The cabin had a very warm feel to it and was exceptionally clean. It had everything you would need in your own home. The dogs had a blast in the snow and enjoyed playing with smokey and radar (Jim's dogs) when they came by. Our favorite part of our getaway besides skiing at nearby ski resort was relaxing in the hot tub enjoying the amazing views as snow poured from above. I must add that the casino in cherokee is not far at all from the cabin. We couldnt have asked for a better experience and will definitely be going back. Jim was excellent at sending us weather updates before arriving and emailing us while there to make sure we were having a good time and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in maggie valley.
