We were looking for someplace that was "less touristy" to spend a night while visiting the Cataloochee Valley ( Smoky Mountain NP) and Jonathan Creek filled the bill. The owner was delightful and informative, there was an excellent restaurant next door, a gurgling brook directly behind the Inn (with a deck adjacent to the brook).and the room was clean and comfortable. A great break from most of the busy tourist areas in the Smokies.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay on our side of the mountains. Cataloochee Valley has always been one of our favorite places to go to and send our guests to. It certainly opens your life to what life was like back in the late 1800's and early 1900's here in the mountains.
Thanks again!

It's sorta a shame that tripadvisor will not allow you you to report every stay at a motel for up to three months. Anyhow, we just returned from another great trip to Maggie Valley. We love this area because of all the huge flea markets and all of the great fruit and veggie stands. Naturally the Staff at the Jonathan Creek Inn are the cream of the crop up here. Each and every one of the folks here are like family. We sincerely love Keith, Alice, Wanda & the great person that cleans our room, Ms. Brandy. We love the creek out back and we always cook out on the grills. The property is spotless. You need to look at the photos of this great motel and picture your self setting in one of the rocking chairs out over the creek. If you don't stay here, you are doing yourself an unfavor.

Spent several days here. Beautiful creek in back, rocking chairs on all the patios, wonderful scenery and centrally located to many attractions. Joey's Pancake house directly across the street and a very nice restaurant next door.

We blew into Maggie Valley after spending an afternoon exploring Biltmore Estates in Asheville. With no place to go we turned to our trusty TripAdvisor. Jonathans seemed like it might work, since what we really wanted was a screened porch to sit on by the creek. I had a vision of falling asleep to the sound of rushing water outside my bedroom window, and that's exactly what this place gave me. In addition to a clean room, indoor pool it was very conveniently located next to the two best restaurants in Maggie Valley... Hurley's for dinner (next door), and Joey's Pancake House across the street.

Room Tip: Make sure you get on one of the ends. They have screened porches off every creekside room, but if yo...

First off, Thanks for staying with us! When we looked for a place to buy, back in 1996, we fell in love with the creek out back. It has always been a special place to relax. Glad you enjoyed it!
We hope to see you again soon.

We enjoyed staying here. The rooms are very clean but a little outdated. It's on the main road in Maggie's Valley and very close to Joey's Pancake House (BEST COFFEE!). We had a balcony that overlooked Jonathan Creek and kids enjoyed the covered/heated pool. Very relaxing!

We stayed here for just one night after a few days in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Inn is about 30 minutes from the park entrance. We called ahead since we were arriving around 10 pm. The front desk does close at night. Staff was more than willing to accommodate us if we were running late. Our room was CLEAN and COMFORTABLE! It was updated and nicely decorated. There were nice decks on the front and back of the Inn. The deck expands in the back of the property, so you can sit outside and enjoy the rushing creek. The alarm clock in the room next to ours went off just after midnight. I was hesitant to call the front desk, but did want to get some sleep! My call was answered promptly. The front desk attendant was still finishing up and I was told the alarm would be turned off shortly. He was apologetic and told me to call if there were any other issues. I would recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Maggie Valley.
There is a great pancake house for breakfast, Joey's, right across the street. If you do arrive late, stop for food before arriving in Maggie Valley. There were no restaurants open on a Sunday night. We had to drive about 15 minutes to the next town to grab a late night bite to eat.

Room Tip: The Inn does not have an elevator, so book a first floor room if stair climbing is an issue.

Thank you for staying with us at The Jonathan Creek Inn. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We do apologize for the alarm clock in the adjacent room going off. We have already reminded our staff to check them each and every time they do a room check out.
We look forward to seeing you the next time you come to enjoy our beautiful mountains.

We love going to Jonathan Creek. While it is right on the main road in Maggie Valley, there is a rushing creek in the back of the hotel with lots of comfortable seating. We love to just sit by the creek. The rooms are very nice. We booked a room with a hot tub and fireplace. It also had a couch. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is located about 30 miles from Cherokee, so we usually take a trip over there to Harrah's Casino
We love Jonathan Creek!
