“A new skier had great fun”

Never been skiing before though I am athletic. Our instructor Lindsey was clear, patient and thorough. (although more time on falling might have been warranted :) for us more aggressive souls.) Food served was not completely outrageous in price and was decent. Equipment rental friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience!

“Maybe a good place, but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Don't go on a holiday weekend. It's crowded, insane, and hard to navigate. We'll probably give it another shot when we can go on a weekday that's not a holiday to see how it is without all the obnoxious crowds.

“Nice little mountain but needs facility upgrades and better training to staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Just so happen to get their on presidents weekend along with a huge snow storm. Skiing was way better than i could imagine with all the saturday snow as i was expecting a little mountain with lots of ice. The mountain was too crowded on saturday with all the church groups, sunday did not see any new snow but they had groomed the trails and with the short lift lines, you could easily make 15-20 trips from top to bottom by lunch time. The staff was good and bad, some of them kept the lift chairs going to capacity while others just "hung out" and let 1-2 people get on the quad chair. With 10-15 minute wait times, keeping the chairs half full is not an option. The only place to eat was overcrowded and provided a bare minimal selection with bare minimal taste. The ski racks outside were non existent, one place between the restaurant and beginner lift had a pile of around 15 pairs of same/similar skis all piled on top of each other. Ski rental facilities were minimal (selection and quality). The meeting rooms where groups congregated were ok, nothing special. Overall for a southern ski mountain i would give it a solid B or very good. Please take this score in relation to other southern ski mountains. i am not comparing it to your previous trips to vail, aspen, jackson hole etc, if thats the case its and F-. So take it for what its worth, if i lived in atlanta or similar location, i would probably have a vacation house there and ski it often. I would recommend this to anyone who can drive it, just watch the weather and if it snows, you will have a good time

“Good Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

It is not the biggest ski area or the best, but it is a good location for a lot of people to get to ski. The snowmaking is very good and they have snow when others don't.
