Good selection and decent prices. Clean, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. Plus, the burgers were fantastic! A half pound bacon cheeseburger cooked to order (which is hard enough to find), accompanied with a huge selection of beer, made this our best meal of the weekend.

I had the sliced pork with my choice of sauces on the side - honey bbq or zesty bbq. I had a salad my side was mashed sweet potatoes. GREAT FOOD! Tender pork, honey bbq was just right and the sweet potatoes were good...not like thanksgiving but good. Pam had the Applewood bacon burger and sweet potato fries. She loved it. Then came the crème Brule with cherries soaked in Moonshine (yep, moonshine) on the bottom with the regular caramelized sugar on top. It was really, really, really wonderful!!! We left there feeling happy and full as ticks!

We ate at the Moonshine Grill while in Maggie Valley, and found it to be a pleasant experience. We were a bit put off by the reviews mentioning slow and/or indifferent service, but didn't find this to be the case. However, our waitress didn't seem to be zipping about the place like the rest were, and some tables that came in after us were being served about the same time as we were. a drink order was forgotten, etc. That non-withstanding, the grilled trout was excellent, and the wife's fried trout was quite good, although not quite done in the thickest part because of the lightness of hand at the frying pan. By the time we discovered this, it was too late to send it back, and we didn't consider it to be a big deal as there was plenty of done fish in the large portion, but two more minutes and it would have been perfect. Just make sure when you order the fried trout to make sure it's done.

A must have is the moonshine cherries creme brulee. It is magnificent. Don't order one to share. You will want it all to yourself.

I am a local and decided to try this place last Sunday. Very few establishments are even open for dinner Sunday in this area. Emily was our server. She could not have been more attentive and she listened! When my wife asked a question concerning ingredients, she didn't guess, she went into the kitchen and asked! How nice was that! The complimentary cheese spread was great. I would have liked to see some hot rolls rather than the crackers.. I ordered the sreak with peppercorn sauce. The smoked flavor was amazing, as were our chicken wings. The steak was cooked perfectly. There were peppercorns mashed into the steak, and it was more of a steak au poivre. My wife had a doible salad that was huge. Crisp greens and beautiful tomatos. She had the chicken with salsa, and lots of it! The chicken was tender and had been marinated in of course....moonshine. They also have early bird specials. This could easily become a favorite!
