“Could easily be a lot better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

WE have been to Frankie's three times, and keep hoping the experience will improve. It is EXTREMELY noisy, even when there are not many people there. The tables are large and the two of us had to lean way across to hear each other. A few baffles on the ceiling might help.
The menu is great and varied, but hard to figure out. They have the entrees (secondi) listed and at the top they say they come with soup OR salad or pasta for $1.50. I wanted chicken piccata, which didn't mention any pasta. I asked if it came WITH pasta or if it was extra. I got an long convoluted explanation, which could have easily have been solved by a "yes, it comes with pasta with no extra charge". This menu deal is really confusing--and it isn't about the $1.50, but about clarity! When the food came it was VERY good, though.

The server was nice, but a bit patronizing--seemed to have memorized saying goodnight, etc. We will go back, but not for a year or so.

“Not so Good Food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

I have to say the place was gorgeous, honestly everything I was expecting. Sadly the food fell short. I am not one to rush through dinner and don't mind if it takes a while to prepare, but an hour for a frozen chicken patty on a plate with some Ragu sauce poured over it and a small hospital size bowl of pasta was not what I expected. To be truthful that is what I would have expect to receive at a all night diner. Disappointing to say the least.

“"Great Food, Wonderful Service"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

We had the pleasure of dinning at Frankie's for my husbands birthday. Our group of nine represented ages 16 to 49. We ordered the "Bruschetta" that was fresh and delicious. I had the "Eggplant Parmesan" which was divine and enough to share I might add.The others in our party ordered random entrees that they enjoyed as well. Our waitress, Carrie, was friendly and made excellent suggestions. She was also attentive to our special needs son and made sure my husband received a special treat for his birthday at the end of the meal. The cost of our dinning experience averaged under $18.00 per person with drinks and appetizers. We will be back!!!

“Perfect Italiano experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Restaurant was filled to capacity, but with a reservation , we were seated within a few minutes.,the service, was exceptional. I expected a wait since they were so busy, but we were immediately served with ,emus and water..then our order was taken and drinks arrived shortly thereafter. The fresh bread was delicious and the wine was perfect. Salads were next and again they were perfect. Both entrees were excellent, veal Parmesan and fettuccine Alfredo.as good as we get when we visit Italy. Dessert was a wonderful Catalonia for our anniversary. People at the next table were so happy and hugging each other, so we joined in and hugged them too! We spoke with Angela, a family owner and enjoyed her story off how she and her family settled in Maggie Valley. A typical Italian experience, mingling with other diners and owners! A truly wonderful experience. No wonder we keep coming back for more!
