“Must Stop for the Waterfall Enthusiest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

I love photographing waterfalls, and this one is great. It's a little steep and slick to get to (we went when there was off-and-on rain that day) but it's only a short trail. It is easier to get to now that there are stairs and ropes. Years ago we went before the deck was built, and actually ended up at an upper area of the falls that's not on the main trail. Don't know if they're public property or not but glad we saw it! Worth the stop - just be careful!

“Rough Walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

SOCO Falls is a great experience. Once you get near the base of the falls there are ropes to assist you in returning to the view platform. It is definitely worth the walk to the base.

“Soco Falls”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2014

Soco Falls is located on Rt. 19 from Maggie Valley to Cherokee, NC. It is a little tricky to find and you really have to look for the signs. There is a really small pull off that will hold five or six cars. The pull off is on your left if traveling from Maggie Valley and on your right if coming from Cherokee. Much harder to fin coming from Maggie Valley because it is on a blind curve. It is worth the effort to locate it. Once you are there it is a very short hike down to a wooden viewing platform for the falls. It is not wheel chair accessible or accessible to those that have problems with a short, steep decent. Once you get there you are in for such a pleasant surprise. It let's you know how little we know about what might just lie close to the roads and highways that we travel as we cross this beautiful country. Ask questions and find the out of the way places. The journey is worth it.

Very good place to take pictures. The way down is steep but I enjoyed it very much. Would go back in the future.
