I will return if the price is "right." The facility is on par with other economy hotels.
The staff quickly and courteously addressed a problem with one of the lamps in the room.
This is my our first trip to Maggie Valley as a couple and we were not disappointed. The hotel appears average from the exterior but as soon as we checked into our creekside room; any worries we had were swept away by the cool mountain breeze. Our second floor balcony overlooked a mountain stream and the privacy it offered made for a wonderful weekend.
The hotel does offer wi-fi and free breakfast whick these days seems to be the standard. The breakfast itself wasnt anything to write home about, yet I wasnt disappointed either. They also have an indoor pool that is open year-round along with a very small yet affective jaccuzzi.
The staff was nice and courteous. And all except for one, Lucie, was helpful. My husband and I had slept late and had just missed breakfast. When I asked what time breakfast normally closed, I was greated by a young girl with a bad attitude. Instead of informing me of the breakfast hours she simply stated that the hours were posted on the breakfast doors. When I asked if my husband and I could have some plates and some silverware, she responded by letting out a deep sigh, rolling her eyes, and storming off. After handing me plates and silverware, she instantly sat back down, propped her feet up, and intentionally ignored my presence as she began to read.
Overall this hotel is in a fantastic and beautiful location. Its proximity to Harrahs Casino and Lake Junaluska make it an ideal place to visit. The hotel is clean and reasonably priced. Even though there is one bad apple in almost every group. We will not let one person deter us from returning to such a wonderful place!
