It is cheaper than most in this area. We have stayed here several times in the past few years and have seen this Hotel go from a great place to an average place. I would still pick this one over the others off this exit. I would suggest staying toward the front part of the building due to what looked like a lot of unlawful activity going on at the back side late that night and wee morning hours.
Cheap, nice staff. The manager on duty when I checked in must have never heard of indoor voice, wow was she loud. Very nice though.
The remodel isn't as nice as they make it out to be, but it's a 30 dollar per night hotel. TV was a nice cheap LCD with lots of channels. Room was clean. Shady clientele, but the owners can't help that.
Ads say their rooms have been remodled ... a coat of textured paint is not a remodel. Plumbing is bad, room not clean; my wife took one of their towels and wiped the hard floor ... towel was black. Some strane people walking around the property. Cheap price isn't worth it.
We look for pet friendly hotels when we travel and are very limited. Motel 6 delivers as they are one of the few chains that allow them. This one had 2 comfortable double beds (one only had 1 sheet but the office provided a complete set of sheets for us) and was clean, smelled good and even had a refrigerator in the room. Pool was in use by children chaperoned by a parent. A big plus, you can have all the ice you want! Not many frills offered by this chain but the discounted price you pay to stay there makes it affordable to stop for a nice dinner or breakfast! Not carpeted, has a laminate floor. Would definitely stay there again.
This motel 6 had the remodeled rooms, which I like. The only complaint I had was when we pulled the bed cover back the sheets were so thin you could see thru them and the pillowcases were stained with ink marks. They smelled clean but just in poor condition. We went to the desk and got a few more sets to put on the bed but for $49 after tax, it was a tolerable stay.
We had traveled for over 12 hours when moving back to FL and just wanted a clean place to stay. Having stayed at Motel 6's before that were immaculate, we thought we'd give this a try. All it took was pulling up in the parking lot and we knew there was no way in hell we were staying here. The motel is situated between 2 nightclubs. The manager had to be roused from his room to assist us. There were people in the lobby drinking alcohol out of paper bags. The lobby stunk to high heaven. The place is disgusting. When we called to get rates/info, we were told there was a pool, just opened for the season May 1, and that the place had been renovated in the last year. The pool water was GREEN, slimy and I don't know what they renovated but the place is a complete dump.
We ended up going to the Best Western Lumberton, and while it was more expensive (we also have a small dog and that was a consideration), it is immaculate.
Don't think twice about staying here. Get off at Exit 22 and there's a whole selection of much nicer hotels. You may pay more but it will be worth it.
