“Our 1st choice when we go to the Mountains.”

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful INN. We have stayed here many times in the past and have enjoyed not only the fantanstic views, but the hospitality is always beyond our expectations. Ron and Susan are great Inn keepers and their goal is to make you happy and comfortable. We tell all of our friends and family about this property and it is also their favorite. It's a great experience to have breakfast on the porch with a view beyond your imagination. So be sure to stop in and look it over, but staying there is an experience you will always remember.

Room Tip: We always try to get the Mountain Suite, which has a full kitchen, living room and bedroom. But if y...

The most peaceful place I think I've ever visited. If you miss the modern "conveniences", then you missed the point of staying here. Ron and Susan are great, they make you feel like family. The view is indescribable. The room is small, but cozy and comfortable. The breakfast is great.
Stayed here 2 times. Once for 3 days and once for 4. Can't wait to go back.

Pros:

The View
Staff Friendliness

Cons:

No TV
No AC
No Phones
Cell phones don't work well here.
Poor (as in NONE) Water Pressure
Outdated Rooms
Over priced rooms
Breakfast cost extra.

Stayed here on a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway, called ahead and was quoted a price of $80 for the room. Upon arrival was told that the room would be $100. A fair price for these outdated rooms would be more like $40. No TV, No Phones and there is NO water pressure.

The staff is very friendly, but their friendliness cannot make up for the short comings of the Inn itself.

Wonderful proprietors, breathtaking view, reasonable rates, and they're situated on a great driving road. The sunrise over the mountains is worth getting up early for. Breakfast is not included. In a pinch there's a Walmart 5 miles away.

We did not stay in the inn, only ate breakfast. Wonderfully quirky spot, right on the highway. Lovely, friendly owners. Super fresh breakfast, very reasonably priced with the best view on the mountain. We will be back.

A surprise awaited us in the morning when we awoke to a breath taking view of the mountains. We were above the clouds, watching the dawning day, fog moving, birds singing, colors changing, all from our second floor balcony at the Alpine Inn. When we arrived the nite before, we couldn't see anything because of the thick fog. What a wonderful morning surprise! Add that to a delicious breakfast served by Ron and made by Susan, the most welcoming inn keepers we had ever met, and there was no leaving. We had to stay another night to enjoy the views and the people who make up this great little community in the mountains. What a find!.

Room Tip: Second floor, end room. There is no fitness center unless you consider hiking the mountain trails t...

Thank you Ron and Susan....only one night, but were treated as if we were there for a week! Views are simply magnificent morning and night and when the Wife went to sleep, I went into the T.V. room and watched a great civil war movie, free of charge! We plan to go back for more than one night. Breakfast was great!
