“Great Place. Lots of nooks & crannies with treasures”

Little Switzerland Books & Beans
Certificate of Excellence
Description: This hidden gem high in the NC mountains has something for everyone! Voted Best Coffee on the Blue Ridge parkway, and Best in WNC. We use fresh beans from Beanwerks in Asheville, NC, but it's our spring water and beautiful antique espresso machine that make all the difference. Come by during your travels, peruse the 30,000+ books, antiques, local arts and crafts, and of course sip on your favorite coffee drink! NOW serving smoothies and frappes as well. Indoor seating by the antique fireplace, or outside seating on our covered front porch. Located next to the Switzerland Cafe, home of killer sandwiches, barbeque, salads, and soups.

This is a frequent stop on my run of daily errands for a Mocha Latte or ice tea on a hot summer day. My favorite stops are when I have time to look through the numerous books or upstairs at the antiques, local craftsman/craftswomen items and talented photographer/artist pictures. Not only is it a unique bookstore, the building has a lot of interesting history.

This is a great little place that is absolutely packed with books!! We got hot cocoa for the kids and was kind enough to keep it at a tolerable temp for them. We got lattes and baked goods and were very satisfied by the time we left. I highly recommend it!

This comfortable little shop with millions of books (or so it seems) has the best coffee and espresso that I have tasted lately... I understand the coffee comse from Asheville Coffee Co., but they attribute it also to the fresh spring water they use to make it... Next door at the Switzerland Cafe... they also use water from the same spring, elxplains why their water is also so good.
Anyway.... for a sweet in the afternoon or a pastry in the AM with your Macchioto.. you won't go wrong at Books & Beans. Great fireplace too.

You are absolutely right; it IS the water! (And the great beans we get from Beanwerks of Asheville, and the wonderful antique espresso machine....and the fabulous operators....) Thanks for your patronage! We hope to see you again on your travels. Moira Hutchings, Manager
