“Excellent Campground”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

This is the first time we stayed here. Absolutely the best campground for the money. Very friendly people both campers and the owners. Very clean facilities. Bathrooms/showers were great, very clean and each one (3 total) have their own separate area and one for wheel chairs. No spiders/bugs in the shower area like many of the other campgrounds we have stayed at. Wifi was excellent as was the cable tv. We will be back, soon!

We stayed here recently for two nights. Very nice campground that is kept up well. Bath house and all other facilities are nicest we have seen. Prices and staff are excellent. Check out time on Sundays is 4pm, really like that too!

The I85 construction including the exits makes going to this parks website for directions a must. Do not trust your GPS! The gravel road in the park is hard packed and level as well as the front pull-thru sites which are quite long and wide. We had no problem leveling, setting up our 40ft Class A with 4 slides and awning. There was plenty of room for our toad to stay hooked up since we were only staying one night. There are no shade trees in this area which makes setting up your satellite easy. Along with the 50amp full hookups you get a picnic table and fire ring. Bathroom, laundry and pool were all very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Sprint phone, hotspot and 3G worked well, did not use the park WIFI. Even though it is right off 85 there is no road noise. We would stay here again.

Cross Winds Family Campground was able to accommodate our group of 30 for tent camping. The staff were amazing and friendly, and had very reasonable prices for ice and fire wood. The bath house is the cleanest campground bath house I've ever seen, and the kids really enjoyed the playground.

The Campground is close to I-85 which is convenient, but far enough away so that we didn't hear traffic noises. Dan Nicholas park, Boone's Cave park, and the transportation museum are all very close, offering a wide variety of recreational options.

Thanks to Cross Winds Family Campground, our group had a very enjoyable camping experience. I highly recommend this campground.

Although this camp ground is about a 40 min. ride from my parent's home we have chosen to stay here three times. We love how clean the place is and it's tucked away in the pines so nicely. We have not been disappointed with this camp ground. The sites are pretty level (we have auto leveling jacks, that we use anyway) and with garbage cans at each site it helps keep the park clean. The staff is super friendly on the phone and in person.

We camped here is a 27ft travel trailer. The sites were level and private. We chose this place because we were going to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the drag races. It was about a half hour ride to the track.
The grounds were very clean and the staff were very helpful. We will be staying here again next year for the races!
There are all sorts of places to eat a few exits down but you would never know it by the remoteness of the campground.
