A definite must see!! Beautiful.... loved having a cd to take us on a verbal tour up the mountain. It was quite the experience! Get there early- on our way out, the line was half way down the mountain!!

Grandfather Mountain is worth the trip to North Carolina. We walked across the bridge and enjoyed the amazing view. If you have kids, hold on to them because the temptation to climb on the rocks may be too much. The gift shop is nice with friendly people. The Blue Ridge Mountains are truly beautiful.

I have been here so many times, and it is always just as fun as if it my first time. The mile high bridge is a bit scary for me, it the view is AMAZING. If you can walk across, do so! The hiking trails near the mountain are great as well. Plenty of sight seeing to fit in your day. is an experience like no other. The museum at Grandfather Mountain is very cool as well. Plenty of souvenirs to take back with you. A must see!

We arrived at 3pm so we only had 3 hrs in the park and almost didn't go in because of the steep admission fee. A ranger gave me an overview and encouraged us to go on. I am so glad we did! An amazing ecosystem with its own climate, Grandfather Mountain was a unique natural wonder and we have travelled the world. Take a jacket! The day we were there it was20 degrees colder than surrounding areas. Winds were 40mph sustained with 58 mph gusts which made the swinging bridge a thrilling adventure! It is very stable and felt safe but what a rush! The complementary CD was was very well done and helped us to appreciate aspects of the mountain we may have missed out on otherwise. Next time we will make it a longer day. I would have loved a hike and a picnic :)

While at first we thought it a little pricy, $15.00 per person to get in, $8.00 for children, we felt e valu well worth it. They give you a informational CD to play as you drive up the mountain, explaining the history of the mountain and showing you the significant locations. There is a fudge shop, an awesome gift shop, a great restaurant that will make you a picnic lunch to go, or you can eat on the balcony or inside looking out the picture windows, a cool history center and THEN you get to the top to see the views and walk the mile high singing bridge! If this wasn't enought there are hiking trails to fit every fitness level, from easy to extreme! This is a must see while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway or while visiting the area. We will be back to hike the ladder & cable trail!
