“Pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

Food was very good but just not much there. Had the sirloin steak and it only came with fries. You would think a mixed veggie or something else would come with it so I was still hungry afterwards. A salad will run you 5/6 dollars more. A basket of bread to start the night would have been ideal especially since it takes a while to get your food. She had the jumbo shrimp which was good.

“Dion's Only Gets Better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

We have visited Dion's almost weekly for several months now. It is absolutely extraordinary to find a place in our small community that serves world-class cuisine. I would encourage those who visit to try the nightly specials as that seems to be where Chef Dion really "gets his groove on" ! I love the regular menu, but tonight's special "Madness Menu" --a series of seven small plates for an incredible price of $32--was the best yet! Each of the offerings was so perfectly balanced it is hard to single out one. From the opening course of beet salad with goat cheese and a balsamic reduction, to the last course of a waffle with coffee ice cream and chocolate-covered coffee beans, it was all marvelous! Visit the Facebook page of the restaurant to get an advanced look at what is in store each night--you will be glad you did. https://www.facebook.com/Dionscuisine

“Friendly family run TOP notch restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

We tried Fresh Grouper, Crab Cakes, She-Crab soup and Bananas Foster.
Fish is purchased directly from the docks in NC each week via a restaurant purchasing coop. It's as fresh as can be. He receives his delivery on Thursdays.
The grouper was prepared Mediterranean style with tomato and caper base, artichokes and potato. Cooked to perfection !! The She Crab soup was excellent, plenty of lump and delicately spiced. The Meyers rum soaked Bananas Foster was delicious and inhaled very quickly with 2 spoons !!
This restaurant has a very personal touch. The proud owner is very welcoming and his staff are professionally trained. They deserve to be very successful. Note this is a dry county, but customers are welcome to BYOB. $10 corkage fee.

“Fantastic Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Even though this restaurant is a little out of the way in Welcome, NC, it is worth the trip. The service from the staff and the owner was outstanding, probably the most attentive staff of any restaurant in the triad area. Food was excellent and priced accordingly for the menu items. We will make this a regular restaurant on our list!

“Big Surprise in a Small Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

Very impressed with the menu and the service. We were a business party of 10. We typically go to Winston-Salem but someone at the office in Welcome recommended going here for convenience and we did. Everyone was pleased with what they got. The majority got the crab cakes and were satisfied a couple got the chicken cannolie (sp) and said it was very good. I got the basil crusted grouper. It was served over stewed tomatoes and new potatoes. For $18 price the cut of grouper was sufficient and I was satisfied with the amount of food. So there was no waste on anyone's plate. Would have preferred the tomatoes fresh. If I lived there I would go back to experiment with the menu and their specials.
