love love loved this place. You are truly brought to a magical spot in mountains where your family can escape from the craziness of life. The dogs were truly the special part which I know sounds strange, but they become yours for a few days. I have twins girls age2 and son 7. It was something both ages could enjoy. You truly are amongst the animals and learned that cows are very tempermental!! You are really left on your own to explore. Would be fun to go w another family. We stayed for 3 nights and was a perfect amt of time. We def will go back. Ohhh I was surprised to find a food truck there and highly reccomend it! Wonderful sandwiches and priced great! Can't wait to go back!!!

Oh, you made my day! Thank you for your kind words, especially about our food. And the dogs so much enjoyed being "yours" for your stay. All of us will look forward to your next visit!

We have been twice, in 2 seasons, and we adore this place. It truly is a 'back to nature' experience that we have never bettered. The farm is simply packed with free range animals of all sizes, and all completely approachable. The guard dogs (Gt Pyrennees) are the friendliest and most loyal beasts. First time I ever milked a cow! The panning for gold and gems was actually fascinating and kept the wee one occupied for an hour... Go, bask and return often!

Room Tip: They have 8 or so wooden cabins and with full kitchens and hot tubs. Walk down to the free range far...

We took our 8 year old girls up to Randall Glen for their first proper horse riding experience. The staff were friendly and made the girls feel welcome. They went off on ponied horses accompanied by Spot and Ellie May (2 adorable Pyrenees) for an hour and came back with big smiles on their faces :-) While the girls were out we were free to roam the farm, checking out the Indian mound and collection of very friendly animals before relaxing on the porch with a cold drink.

It was a joy to give your girls their first riding experience, and a pleasure as well to visit with you while they were riding. I hope you'll come to see us again the next time you're in the States!

Wish we had four wheel drive but managed just fine. We loved the farm and that we could participate in the feedings as much or as little as we wanted. Hot tub in the cabin was a definite bonus. Farm food was a little pricy but worth it. So tasty and homemade direct from the farm. Absolutely would return again!

The staff was so friendly. They have many wonderful animals..all sweet spirited. We bought two $45 buckets of dirt and came away with tons of rocks but more then anything a great family bonding experience! The driveway is rustic..dont take your BMW! Wear grubby clothes and bring plastic bag for ur dirty shoes. This trip wont disappoint! My kids aged 15, 13, 10. As far as rooms and cleanliness the website made me fill it in but I never saw them. The staff mentioned they were beautiful though.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the gem mining--we do have the best gem dirt in the Smokies!--but most important is that you had a family bonding experience...That's what we're all about here, sharing our farm, our mountain, and our good times so that families can enjoy being together.

We just got back from 3 days at Randall Glen. I was concerned based on the review by Albert C, but he must have stayed at a different resort. We stayed in Newfound. It's off season, so we had the place to ourselves. The cabin was lovely, very new and clean with a porch, swing, rocking chairs, two very comfortable queen size beds and a loft with two twins. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, granite countertops. You get free land line service - I have ATT and was out of cell phone range; the Verizon people had service down by the farm but not in the cabin. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Everything was clean and well kept, and the staff were very helpful. This is a WORKING FARM - so do not expect a resort. Mary Adore was helpful when she could be, but she also had cows, goats, chickens, lambs and a llama to feed. The kids got to milk the cow, bond with Miss Petunia, a very stand offish but gentle sheep, watch the turkeys show off their feathers and see two baby goats be born! The most marvelous thing though had to be the dogs. There are 5 sweet gentle giant Great Pyrenees, and they take their hosting job very seriously. From the moment we arrived, Spot accompanied us everywhere, on hikes, back and forth to the barn, to the fishing pond. We felt so safe with him along - he even slept on our porch every night. My friend was actually scared of dogs until she met Spot - if only all dogs were so well mannered. There's also Ellie Mae and Sammy who occasionally joined us. If Albert is talking about deformed animals, he may mean the club footed boxer Best. I loved the place all the more for having a few ragtag animals that might have been put to sleep if they hadn't found a home at Randall Glen. The staff built a bonfire for us on the last night, and I felt like I was back at camp, singing songs and making Smores. Do not come here if you need to be catered to and you don't want to get dirty. Do come here if you want to experience a real farm, go on breathtaking hikes, hear birdsong during the day and crickets at night, get to know a wonderful menagerie of animals, and feel a million miles away from noisy cities and shopping malls.

You know, Jamie, I believe you summed up Randall Glen in a nutshell...We're a working farm whose main desire is to share with our guests the glories--and fun, and peace--of the mountains and of nature. Thank you!
