“Open in off season. Great burger”

It's place is popular enough with locals that it can stay open well before and after many restaurants along the blue ridge close down. We were starving and stumbled across Freeborne's. Inside we met a few locals who were out for cruise on their motorcycles. They recommended the burger and it didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff who are very friendly to travellers.

Good place to stop for lunch when cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway! Good food and fun. Always lots of motorcycles to look at in the parking lot too!

The three amigos were tired and cold when we started looking for a place to eat and stay along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. As we rode into Laurel Springs, we spied several motorcycles parked in front of this cool looking diner. We all know bikers love to eat and socialize so we three pulled in and checked Freeborne's out. It was an oasis with a full bar and restaurant. Then we were told rooms were available next door for $65. OUTSTANDING! Not only was our food and drinks well prepared, but we stayed in the remodeled 1954 motel where the water has hot, sheets clean, the wifi free and all at an affordable price. Like the web site advertises - GOOD FOOD, GOOD DRINKS, GOOD COMPANY. Early the next morning we filled up with free coffee (show room key) and a country breakfast in the same diner before riding down the mountain. Yep, I'll be back for sure.
