We really loved this home. It has a fantastic fireplace, a great TV that is internet connected for Netflix and a well appointed kitchen. The bathroom is also very nice. The outdoor grill included a full propane tank and was clean. You are plenty close to nice restaurants. The area is peaceful too.
My wife, two year old son, and I went to Toxaway Views for a short getaway from the heat of Florida. The condominium is just as described and as the pictures show. The manager was easily accessible and very helpful (we made all arrangements via phone and email). The condo was clean, had nice views, numerous indoor entertainment options, and was well equipped.
There are many great hiking trails within 5-25 minutes from the condo complex, many with beautiful waterfalls. Cashiers is nearby and is a lovely town that has an outstanding playground/park with a lovely summer music program and very nice nature trails.
While we enjoyed our stay overall, we would not recommend it for people with small children. Few of the hikes or trails in the area are navigable by or with small children. While the condominium's pool may help entertain children, the frequent wet weather and a man-made waterfall beside the pool (that empties into its own murky concrete pond) may mean less relaxation for parents.
Despite the natural beauty and attractions of the area, there are a few things visitors should keep in mind. The first is that Lake Toxaway itself is privately owned and not accessible to the general public (and the condo property is not a part of that land). Unless staying on Toxaway Estates or at They Greystone Inn, visitors should NOT plan on seeing or doing anything on or near the lake.
The second issue (one that won't be a concern to golfers and resort seekers) is that much of the area has been developed--over-developed--by country clubs and golf resorts. Having grown up near the area, I felt that much of its natural beauty is compromised by endless golf courses and gated communities. This also affects the kinds of people who go there--mostly very wealthy, white, older people and families--and in turn the kinds of stores and restaurants one finds in the region (fine dining).
