Owner description: Our gems are natural and only come from our mountains. We come out to the flume to identify the stones. We will custom wire wrap any stone you find. We also will cut, polish and set in gold or silver any stone. We can also do some jewelry repairs. We teach stone cutting and wire wrapping. We are open daily rain or shine, flume is partially covered. We have jewelry for sale all year. We also have buckets "to go" take it home and do it there. You never know what treasures you will find. The guided gold panning trips are now available. We also do guided gem mining trips where we find 'um, spend the day or half a day, we take all the equipment with us. There is gold in every creek and river here. And we are "plopped" right on US 64 in beautiful Lake Toxaway, we have parking available from cars to motor homes even school buses. This year we are making pottery again 14 years ago we were making pottery and selling it wholesale all over the US. And yes we are hand building hand warmer mugs. We are selling wholesale and retail. Groups welcome, ask Curly about our group discounts.

Very nice owners. They are knowledgable and helpful. It may look a little rustic from the outside but it should, your gem mining. Stones are local to the region. We found sapphires, ruby, emerald, topaz and Quartz.

We were deciding between 2 different gem mines to go to, and we were very pleased that we chose Mountain Treasures. We truly got our money's worth. The staff gave us awesome direction and info on what we were finding in our bucket. I think this is an authentic mountain experience.

There are many places to choose to gem mine, but wanting to avoid the tourist type of gem mining and the "salted" buckets, we stopped in here. The couple that was there was so friendly and helpful, our bucket was not a disappointment. Worth every penny. They showed us how to pan it, helped us find the gems and identify them, and were extremely patient with my kids. They were also very giving to the kids. Our bucket has plenty of rose quartz, citrine, topaz, emerald, ruby, granite, crystal, smokey quartz, and a few others that I don't remember. Best kept secret of Lake Toxaway in my opinion. We'll be back next summer!

This was a blast! The couple there were really sweet and gave us a deal on the buckets. Since it was cold outside, they weren't really doing gem mining but the turned on the water just for us. We found a ton of amazing rocks in our buckets and can't wait to head back in the summer
