We have seen it all, two years ago, and now again and it was in the same time a fresh and new experience.
The warm welcome of Fátima and José, their careful and loving way they and especially Fátima and her excellent staff provide for all comfort , calm and relaxation is amazing and invigorating. The house, the rooms, pool, tennis court, all is just as it should be when all is fine, elegant and not over the top. This year we had organised to have our family and close friends with us and we had the whole beauty for us for a week. What a bliss! We had dinners many evenings at the Quinta in the elegantly transformed stable. It was organised by Fátima with help of an excellent chef and once it was Fátima who did all the cooking. Food was excellent, we had our intake of fresh sardines and fruit de mer - splendid.
What more to say? We certainly will come back

What a wonderful experience to spend 2 nights at this lovely quinta! The house is beautifully appointed, the grounds elegant and streamlined. Our luxurious twin room in the main house had a view of the church tower and the Atlantic ocean. In addition to a large bathroom and ample space to store one's clothes, the room had a fridge and a hot water kettle for tea and coffee. Also provided were two small bottles of port, mineral water, and terry robes. Rooms are cleaned daily and the staff is excellent - multi-lingual and very kind.

Breakfast was copious and delicious with homemade jams, fresh local products and very good bread. It was served buffet style in a beautifully restored out-building. On one evening we enjoyed an excellent three-course dinner at the quinta (arranged on request before our arrival). On the other evening we were directed to a very good local seafood restaurant a short drive away. We did not get the chance to try out the large swimming pool as the weather was rather chilly and windy.

The beautiful and almost empty beaches are a short drive away or one can also walk. The loverly town of Viana do Castelo is 15 minutes by car. There is ample parking at the quinta which is surrounded by high walls and therefore quite secure.

Fatima and her family are charming and helpful hosts. We hope very much to visit again!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Belvedere House (Casa do Mirante). It was lovely. And the entire property with its trees pool and grounds is a pleasure. Josef and Fatima were great hosts. Fatima's home made jams at breakfast are not to be missed. The attention to detail was impressive. So were the staff including the charming young lady who greeted us. We ate at a local restaurant suggested by the Quinta staff and it was friendly fun and delicious (Gomez). Our only problem is that Australia is too far away.

Spent 4 nights in the Ramada suite and were the only guests as it was low season. We also got a tour of the other accomodation,(cottages, apartment)and they were all of the highest standard. The Quinta is completely enclosed by its original wall,so very private and secluded. The staff and owners were very polite and helpful and very genuine.Breakfast and dinner are served in the old wine press/storage building, that has been restored and is now a wonderful room with lots of character. Breakfast is a continental buffet with fresh breads and hams.We only had dinner one night,as being the only guests wouldnt have made economic sense.Dinner was however very tasty(octopus)and our waitress was courteous and well informed about the wines and the dishes.
There is a generous sized pool, ample areas to sun-bathe,and manicured gardens and lawns. There is also a tennis court, and and indoor games room and library(with pool table). The quinta works an honesty bar system for beverages. We ate out in Amaroso at the local restaurants(5 mins away by car),but you are with walking distance of a good partiserie/bakers and some local bars.Viana do Castelo is around 15 minutes drive away and Guimares around 40 minutes. Both are easy drives and worth a visit.
The quinta would be ideal for a couple or family looking for a good rest.Northern Portugal is very unspoilt, and very quiet. The people are very friendly and most local people have a good command of either English or French. The beach was around 1km away.
We would certainly go back
