Point of View restaurant is not fancy and casual dress is appropriate, including shorts and sandals. The restaurant sits at the end of a slew of Lake Lure. Most all seats in the restaurant have a view down into the lake. Reservations are highly recommended. The food is fresh and wonderful and the staff takes great pride in providing efficient servce. I had sauteed trout which was excellent and plentiful. The side items and salads were equally as good and fresh. The restaurant has beer and wine available. It is a great restaurant with a great view and wonderful and plentiful food. You will be happy you dined there.

This restaurant is not on Lake Lure, but still offers a view. The menu had so many wonderful dishes that it was hard to choose. We had the escargot (which you cannot get in many places). What a surprise! They were wonderful. I had Veal Picatta, which was great. My husband had the Trout, which was also very good. Treat yourself to a very nice meal if you are ever at Lake Lure. Reservations might be a good idea. The restaurant is not large. Enjoy!

We love to go to the Point of View on Tuesdays for Prime Rib Night. Excellent food and a great value! Very nice view of Lake Lure from many of the tables!

Our family ate supper at the restaurant. I called for reservation, the person on the food was not overly nice. I thought twice about canceling. We went. The wine was great. The salad was okay and they said all dressings were home made. I ordered bleu cheese. If it was bleu cheese it did not have the cheese in it. The prime rib was overdone. The shrimp were cooked too much. Knives had fingerprints all over them. The waitress asked for new ones and the lady that brought them asked her why she needed new ones right in front of us. The decor does have a lot to be desired.

The location up on a hill overlooks Lake Lure. The preparation of the food outstanding! I had salmon and husband river trout and the taste so delicate and delicious!!! I believe I can still salivate thinking of the delicate seasoning and health of the seafood!!! Yummy! YES! There is also beef, chicken etc available. Veggies fresh and locally grown for the most part! View possible if you sit by window!! Rustic interior!
