We were really surprised to be promptly seated in this usually crowded BBQ restaurant. But, on the Sunday we visited, there were fewer than 20 people seated and the waitress took our order within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, that's the last we saw of her until our food arrived 45 minutes later and it was nothing special-just sliced beef brisket, slaw, hush puppies and fries. The portions were so small, we were finished with the meal in less than 10 minutes and ready to leave. No offer of drink refills or mention of desert.
I commented to the cashier that they must be short of help and she explained, no, they normally only work 2 waitresses and a cook, She said our long wait time was caused by a party of ten who arrived just before we did. They ordered food that required a long time to prepare. She told me of her policy of making sure all food and drink orders were delivered in the exact order that were taken even if it meant making everyone else wait while difficult orders were being prepared.
She further stated they were telling their customers to try to come on days that weren't so busy if they wanted to avoid waiting so long.
I think maybe it would be best just to avoid the situation altogether.
