Description: The History of Huckleberry's Lake Lure In the early mornings of high school, you could find Michaila in the kitchen at Huckleberry's Lake Lure stirring up all kinds of "goodies." In April 2012, she began serving a full breakfast and lunch menu six days a week. By May 2013, Michaila had hired an Executive Chef, Jim Camillo, to join her in bringing you the restaurant's fine international cuisine. She also expanded to seven days a week in the Lake Lure Season. In December 2014, she opened another location in Tryon, NC, "Huckleberry's Tryon." The Tryon facility took off so fast and furious, that in May 2015, Chef Jim and Michaila closed their Lake Lure location and moved to Tryon full time.

“Lovely quiet place”

We enjoyed breakfast here several days while we vacationed in the area. We enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and huckleberry jam. Its a small place off the beaten path, fun atmosphere and very friendly people. We would recommend it to anyone in the area!

Morning,
Yes we are off the main tourist side of the lake, but located just 1/3 mile from the Rumbling Bald Resort, Fairfield Mountains, Fox Run and Apple Valley.
We are located in a old farmhouse, so reservations are recommended.

Came here twice for breakfast on the girls golf weekend. Really cute house. Great food. Friendly service. Quick but not rushed. Love the kitschy stuff and table journals.

“Charming with Great Food”
Reviewed May 16, 2014

We live in Lake Lure and Huckleberry's is one of our favorites. We had lunch there today, our server, Amber 1 was fabulous. Enjoyable experience all around. The bacon, lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich was to die for as was their waldorf chicken salad. Wonderful experience.

Morning Mrs. B
Thank you so much for supporting your local American owned business. I enjoy seeing you time and time again and chatting. Thanks for the pleasant review and great to hear you enjoy the chicken salad served inside a half avocado. It is one of our more popular lunch items.

Stopped by for late afternoon lunch and was very pleased. Menu had interesting choices. Two soups were delicious- peach Chardonnay soup and chicken gumbo. Really enjoyed the avocado chicken salad and quiche. Enjoyed lunch so much we came back for breakfast which was good. Prices reasonable. Exceptional service at breakfast with Amber 1.

“A delightful little restaurant”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

We just celebrated our wedding anniversary at Huckleberrys, our first meal there, and we were thoroughly impressed. The restaurant is in a small bungalow from the 1920s era and is quite charming, reminiscent of the past. Our waitress, Debbie, was very attentive as well as quite humorous. Our meals were very good. It is nice that one gets warm freshly baked dinner rolls as well as a very decent sized salad with one's entree. I had the filet mignon, which was a good size and very tender, along with home made mashed potatoes and ratatouille. Excellent.mMy wife had the trout and, despite her hesitation about this fish, she said it was the best trout she ever had. There was enough for her to even take half home. Dessert was equally delicious, not a surprise given the owner's background as a pastry student in the past. The only thing that could be improved on would be some background music, as it was a tad quiet when we dined, and some
nice music would have added to the atmosphere. I would say that this is a fine place to dine, charming and excellent food and service.

Good morning Sir
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. We do all work extra hard at Huckleberry's to learn and grow and make everyone's dining experience great.
I will review the music issue, I am thinking of going to CD's and not the radio stations, but I first have to go thru the proper royalty channels and organizations in order to play them legally in a public venue. That is new territory for me, and I am self learning the paperwork and fees now.
Please revisit us again soon, and maybe I will have figured this music procedure out, LOL. Its been interesting for me, learning I can not just throw 6-19 CD into the player legally. Never knew that 6 months ago.
