Before we arrived at The Lodge I had images in my mind of a rustic old lodge on a mountain lake with knotty pine-walled rooms decorated with old fishing pictures-and that would have been okay. What we found instead was warm, friendly, place, with exceptional breakfasts and dinners. It had its rustic charm, particularly in the great room, but the guest rooms were modern, well appointed, roomy and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised-no, shocked-at the quality of the food, far better than I expected. The chef came out regularly to check with everyone to be sure all was well. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and clearly wanted to make our stay the best they could. I particularly enjoyed the mingling hour, before dinner, when we would meet and talk with other guests, as well as the staff and owner. We look forward to returning.

We stayed at the Lodge on Lake Lure for the first time this weekend to celebrate our anniversary and have some R&R. The staff was outstanding and took good care of us. They obviously enjoy working at the Lodge.

The setting was great, tucked into the woods overlooking Lake Lure. The room was very comfortable and CLEAN. Chef Philippe did an outstanding job with dinner and the breakfast crew was great. Loved being able to have breakfast on the deck.

The Lodge is close to Chimney Rock and about 45 minutes from Asheville, so you can do as much or as little as you want very easily.

We'll be back!

Room Tip: The website does a great job describing the rooms. Each one is different!

We had a grand time but were told there was a special with dinner one night and also an hour of horseback included during the week. There was no dinner served on the nights we were there but the owner did a lovely job of fixing us a little food the last night.
I have talked about the lovely lodge to friends who may stay there soon.
Also, would suggest an upstairs room as noise carries down on the first floor above your head.
Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Select top floor

I searched for weeks to find a great place to take my husband for a special birthday. Luck hepled me out and what a suprise, the Inn itself is great but the staff and owners were so personable and helpful. The rooms were spacous, the bath was inviting and comfortable. The food was superb and the horseback riding was a wonderful experience since I had never been on a horse before. It was the most relaxing time and worth the extra money. We will make this a regular place to visit our new friends

Room Tip: The staff helped me choose a great room

While on business in Aug,we stopped at this property for the evening. We found it clean and inviting with many upscale amenities. The owner,Horst, was very engaging ,and did his best to provide a good experience for his guests. While not cheap, the property provided good food and a nice relaxing atmosphere. We will be back.

Room Tip: All different but good.
