location is perfect - right on the beach and plenty of good restaurants and stores nearby, a drug store a block away. Make sure to get a room totally overlooking the ocean. My only complaint - I asked for oceanside and the room we got was over the parking lot w/ the ocean off to the side. I went down and asked the desk and it turns out there were rooms avail that looked directly over the ocean. I have no idea why they would not give away the best rooms/views first, but oh well. The cost for each room is even the same. The courtyard it very nice, there's a dock just behind the hotel, and the view is wonderful. We stayed in early May and it was pretty quiet. Nice surprise - we watched dolphins from our balcony every day. Every time we went out, there would be a dolphin jumping somewhere in view. Also, Duck Donuts is just across the street - please check this place out!

Room Tip: make sure to ask for a room looking over the ocean, not the parking lot. "Ocean view" was...

We stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, Kitty Hawk, Spring and Fall each year since 2009. The Inn has a restaurant and offers continental and full breakfasts each day, lunch during the season, and dinner. The food quality is not bad at all. You can upgrade your room as a Hilton Honors member, and also obtain free full breakfasts; however, over the last year the upgrades are hard to get if you stay over a weekend because on weekends they promote weddings. Location is on the beach, and there is a fishing pier free to guests. Prices have increased over the past year(not sure why) so it is best to wait until a good price or deal arises. Booking months early is no longer an advantage becasue you do not necessarily get the best rate. Service is pretty good, but sometimes the daily room cleaning goes into the afternoon if the hotel is busy. We will continue to stay at the Hilton since it is central to all activites. Avoid the ground floor, ocean front rooms -- can see anything because of the dunes. We will stay again this Fall.

Room Tip: The outside rooms still have a pretty good view -- ocean front are expensive and if you do not spen...

Our family of four spent a week at this hotel In early June, I can not say enough positive things about the staff and how friendly and attentive they were, every day and every shift, morning, evening and during the overnight. This hotel had a positive energy, everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy the work they were doing. We had a room on the 5th floor, nice view of the courtyard, beach/pier to the right and Kitty Hawk to the left. The room was clean and comfortable, nicely appointed with a desk and chair, large screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, two beds and a chair and ottoman combination. The bathroom was clean, cheery, well lit with good water pressure for a hot shower. Great Job Jeremy (GM) keep up the good work.

Duck Donuts is across the street for those of you that like fresh cooked donuts and your choice of toppings, coupled with a good cup of local coffee. Also about a block South of the hotel is Rundown Cafe, a very good restaurant, reasonably priced, with a jamican carribean feel, the fish burrito is one of the best I have had, also very reasonably priced for a family of 4 with kids that like the basics.

My wife and I spent a total of 6 nights at this hotel, split into two 3 night stays.
The overall experience was excellent. From the friendly and very helpful reception desk through to the restaurant/bar service and on through all other staff members we came in contact with.
This is a happy hotel and it shows.
The location is perfect, right on the beach and its position enables you to get to see all the Outer Banks easily.
We had ocean view rooms and they were great, one was a corner room with windows on two elevations and was huge, the other slightly smaller but again with a view to die for.
One minor irritation the air con tended to be a little noisy, but that does not detract from the experience.
The outdoor pool area, whilst not huge, is adequate considering the ocean is just over the fence. Towels are provided and also umbrellas and chairs are available at a small cost for the beach. The indoor pool is useful if the weather is not so good.
There are some great restaurants in the area and the food in the hotel is very good, especially breakfast.
All in all we had wonderful stays here and when visiting the area again this is the hotel we will book.

Room Tip: Book an ocean view room on a higher floor to appreciate the views.

Good place, this, We got a superior room on the 4th floor, in the northern wing overlooking the pier- a better view you could not want. The room itself had everything you'd expect from a Hilton, was large, clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is fine, very helpful staff (exceptionally cheerful and welcoming, with all the information about the area you may need), the only criticism may be that the bar area isn't really conducive to having a quiet drink (breakfast, served in the same area, is excellent). Come night, however, they have a fire-pit in the central area, a great spot to while time away (cool Red Stripe from the fridge helps).

Not sure if there's a restaurant in the hotel, which is up at the north end of Kitty Hawk. However there are a couple of places just opposite, so not a problem eating out if you want to.

The rooms overlooking the pier have a stunning view- make sure you're up just before sunrise (the staff in the hotel will tell you when) and you'll see one of the greatest views out- worth getting out of bed for as the ball of sun rises over the horizon and warms you on the balcony. Utterly mind-blowing.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pier, and up high. You may pay extra, but if you want to see the sunrise, it's w...

Booked a room at the last minute while traveling back up the coast from the Carolinas. Excellent place right on the beach. Ocean views from many rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. I would definitely recommend this place.

Room Tip: Partial ocean view rooms have balconies, so the view is actually quite good. I'd recommend being...
