We visited Trio twice while on vacation in Kill Devil Hills in NC in May 2013. We really liked their anti pasta platter and the wine machines are a fun and different way to try a selection of wines. A free tasting came with our holiday rental and when we enquired about it we were told it was only on Tuesday. But Sharon went off and got some wine a did a private tasting just for me!

We recently returned to Trio and were pleased to find the wine and food selections are still interesting and impressive. We enjoyed trying the vast variety of red and white wines so much - we bought a case! We also sampled the cheeses and purchased two to bring home. The staff are knowledgeable and engaging. A delicious and fun experience.

Loved the fact you can do tasting by yourself and pour as much as you want. You give the bar tender your credit card and they give you a card that is pre-paid or end total and you go around to different stations and can chose tasting, 3 or 6 oz pour of red and white wines. The bar tender can get you a flight of wine or beer at the bar. Well worth the money.

Do not buy the appetizers if you are hungry though. We ordered crustini and Spanakotyropita and we received 4 of each and if you put them all together you may get 1 appetizer size but separately what a joke! and we paid about 16.00 for them. Try the sandwhich's they looked bigger.

We decided to go to OBX for 5 days last minute. I was looking for a specific wine and found out that Trio's is the only one that carried it; I did not realizing they had a cafe too. When buying the wine, the staff was extremely nice. Plus, the menu looked interesting and different than the norm. Our family had already eaten at a series of "recommended" place that were terrible, so we decided to go back the next day and try Trio's out. Their Panini's are awesome. You can tell that they use fresh ingredients and we all agreed it was the best meal we had all week. Their different cheeses and sides were Yummy too! This is my new favorite place when I go to OBX. Just leave me a table when I show up please...lol

With a great recommendation we headed to Trio. Upon arrival a greeting seemed customary coupled with assistance; which is always a good sign. Wine gadgets for all! A equal amount of Red and White Wine, from local and international Vendors! A beer selection that included many that we've tried and liked - Dopplebocks, pales, triples, barley wine and wheat beer; with so many more lining the entire far left corner, including a refrigerated area, of this wonderfully eclectic wine bar. To the right a small delicatessen with cheeses and season salami's on a refrigerated display - with a basket of chopped gourmet bread and aged cheese to try!!! Besides this area ( a simple treasure, to say the least would definately be the understatement) a bar fully loaded with specials on wine and beers from again around the world - coupled with a great menu of sandwiches and salads, cheese/ meat trays! And wait Theres an upstairs!!! A sitting area, a smaller bar and a pool table!!!!And lastly not forgetting the independent wine distributing cubbies ( not sure if this is the correct name for them) leaving you to make your own decision to purchase a small glass, medium or large! ( pre loading your 'card' at the bar with $ will allow you to taste, as you wish) what a wonderful concept 'all under one roof'!!!!! A truly wonderful venue to kick back sip some wine and take in the ambience!!!! Why would you go anywhere else ;)
