Had to make a quick trip to the Outer Banks due to a death in my familyand had a hard time finding a room. I was very disappointed in the hotel considering the price of the rooms and the fact that Wyndham’s name is attached. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. The blankets on both beds had holes in them, the mattress had no padding and the springs poked, the air conditioner was nasty and stuck in the wall, the window was filthy, there were flies in the room and the roaches were outside the door running around the balcony. Even though the bathroom was small it was clean and the shower was good. The employees were nice and friendly.

We chose this site due to the suite availability and great prices. We were not expecting a whole lot, but we were there for the beach, not the room. We were really surprised at how nice our room was! The smell of clean freshness met us at the door, no musty smell that ocean rooms can sometimes have. Perfect ocean view from our balcony. We did not notice any outside noise from other rooms, which was much appreciated. Beds are comfortable, nice towels, really felt clean. Matrix hair products provided - wow! Our only suggestion is that the bedrooms need a mirror, and maybe more trash cans. All of the staff that we interacted with were very nice and professional. Would stay here again anytime. The area feels very safe too, we left items out on the porch and didn't have a thing go missing.

Room Tip: Do not hesitate to choose this hotel, we loved it

The exterior appearance of this hotel had us very concerned. The inside did look better but the cost was way too high for what we got. Breakfast and wifi was great. I would not stay again not at that price.

So I rate lodgings globally, so as to give the reader a better idea of how the place relates to say a AAA or Michelin 5-star vs whatever lowest end lodging you might consider (say 1 step above a tent). In this regard this is a 2 star, 2.5 if they had that option. Outside is OK but nothing special, wear shows in some places, age in others, but nothing stays pristine right on the beach.. so average in that regard. In the realm of budget class motels, its probably a 3.5.

The room inside however is quite nice, a little surprised compared to the external facility. Bed was very comfortable, just enough sink and support for a great nights sleep. Floors and walls were a little thin.. typical of such budget class. Size of the room was good, plenty of floor space for 2 people getting ready in the morning. Bathroom was adequate, dated and in a little need of minor repairs, but fully functional. There was a microwave and fridge, and a TV with easy access for jacking in your own device (when chilling out at the end of the day).

Breakfast is included and its a decent sized breakfast room. Options are fairly limited though.. would get bored if were there more than a couple of days. Coffee, Apple and Orange juice. Oranges, mini muffin, bagel, self-serve belgium waffle, sausage, egg/cheese omelet, sliced bread, cereal, and yogurt . And at least for the couple of days we were there, the options seem to not change from day to day. Some variety would be nice..

There is a screen pool just before the dunes, decent size. And beach access is directly off the back of the parking lot, very convenient.

And lastly, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Upon arriving the safe did not work and maintenance guy was there and had it fixed in like 10 minutes. I had a handful of interactions with the front desk and they were always very friendly and helpful.

Overall, for really good price we got, this would be a good place to visit again.

Room Tip: However you can't see the beach really from the beach side at the first and 2nd levels so not a big choice to make..
